Apple of yesteryear would blow our minds and do something like that! 😱

I’m not sure if it’s the X-60 Qualcomm modem or the A chip processor that is eating battery on cellular. Probably the Qualcomm chip.

I think maybe new cellular chips excite me more at this point. I would love to go back to a power sipping phone on cellular :/
Well, It would go either way. Hardware and Software but I think Apple would introduce M1 chips on iPhones. It will do very well with the battery life. However, I do believe we're still 2-4 years away from that transition.

If you have no interest in the camera etc, why did you decide to get the 13 Pro over the mini or regular model in the first place? Was there something you thought was better, or that you wanted from it?
I went for the mini over the Pro purely because of the smaller size (I agree the 13/13 Pro/Pro Max are way too big and heavy for a phone).

BUT

The Pro looks much nicer and premium and has a nicer/larger screen and if it wasn't for sizing I'd have gone for that without question.

I've tried to adapt/get used to the Pro sized device but I just can't, it always feels too bulky and heavy in my pocket, and that's without factoring in a case too.

The regular 13 is considerably lighter, 30 grams on paper sounds like nothing but on a phone you will notice the difference.

I agree the overall size is a little big, 5.8 was great.

What if Apple decides to drop the Mini releases in the next model iPhones?

Would that mean Apple would stop updating the iPhone 13 Mini?
There won’t be an iPhone 14 mini, but we can hope that there will be new iPhone mini in 3-4 years, similar to how the iPad mini only gets updated every couple of years.

I made the switch to the regular 13, what a pleasure to hold and use; I insist, 30 grams on a phone is A LOT.

I used a 12 mini, and got frustrated with the battery life. Switched to 13 Pro, thought it was big and heavy at first, but loved the promotion and battery life. Then I thought that if not getting the benefits of the mini size, I may as well go the whole hog and get the pro max. Took about a month to get used to it, but now it’s so normal with that crazy good battery life as a benefit - which comes in very handy now that I’m back to traveling a lot.

Been using the 13 Pro but decided to call it quits…

Still have my 12 mini and using that now until my 13 mini arrives.

What a difference in weight and size. Can use it one handed.

Even if Apple decides to stop making the Mini releases, I hope they will still release security or feature updates for the iPhone 13 Mini.

Can anyone confirm this?

You will get at the very least 4 more years of updates I expect. Certainly some new features in there too.

iPhone 13 Mini is the best phone of this current cycle IMO. I also went from an iPhone 13 Pro to an iPhone 13 Mini initially, and I was shocked at how much more I enjoyed using the Mini.

I don't think the iphone would be the target for M chips. For a phone, the focus on efficiency is more important, and other features that might take up precious silicon space (such as thunderbolt controller) might not be needed. So imo having a separate chip focused on efficiency is better than trying to shoehorn the M chips into a phone.

I bought a 13 mini this week. I've already had a 13 since March, but I find it too big and heavy. Perhaps because I had a SE 1st generation for four years? I don't know, but I'm looking forward to a smaller, but for me better, experience. My youngest daughter is taking over the regular 13, she's also happy with the smaller size, since she has an Xr today.
