While that was my hold up initially, i think i tend to disagree now. I believe the integration is actually pretty on par. For instance if i use siri to create an invent it goes to the stock calendar, but that in-tern goes to many 3rd party calendars automatically.

Likewise if i create an event on 3rd party calendar and then go to my mac, its on the stock calendar now..

The good ones seem to all sync together pretty nicely.

It's still having two calendars that have to sync and managing them etc. It's just an extra step when apple should really just leave the calendar like iOS 6

I think this would be very nice for the calendar..

different colors for different calendars and a preview pane and there you iOS 6 which had the better calendar app!

that's cool and all, but i'd rather have dots that represent.. more than 1 dot per day if you have more things going on.

for instance:

red - basketball calendar
blue - work calendar
green - personal calendar

if i have all 3 calendar's scheduled on 1 day, it will show me 3 dots indicating all 3.

but now that they got rid of the dots, i'm kind of annoyed.

Now i agree with the fact that Apple should step it up as i would PREFER to use stock apps (and always have used them), but i just don't see where using a third party calendar here causes any extra step on the user end? From what i can tell its been done completely behind the scenes , making it just appear as a new skin almost, so to speak.

I reported this lack of feature in beta 1 as a bug report, and now again in beta 2. I've had no response as to whether this is being dealt with or to submit any console logs etc. I do wonder/worry whether this will be the way it's meant to be. I do also fear that iOS 7 will be like windows 8 in that it requires extra steps to get the same info. Yes you can see you list of events by clicking the magnifier, but that's one extra step than before. I know it's not the end of the world, but software is supposed to get easier not require more steps.

yes the stupid section they have now is terrible, so many un-needed changes, why fix something if its not broken.

I made a thread about events not showing at the button here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1604275/

I hope they will not leave this like this.

I've noticed this too. I liked the list view under the month in the old calendar app; any kind of list view would be great ...

You mean like this

That what I have been trying to explain, list of events on month view.

I know this is definitely a downgrade, a step backwards for Apple on iOS7. What if we sign a petition to Apple to fix this?

I filed this bug on Tuesday on the dev site. I've already received an email saying they closed it as a duplicate (meaning it's already been reported and acknowledged).

So hopefully they fix it sooner than later!

Wow, this is so nice to know some is reporting this missing dots & hopefully will also bring the list back as well on month view. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372637220.699425.jpg

Is there anyone out there who feels the calendar is a good upgrade? My calendar has lots of events here and there so I'm wondering if somehow it's not designed for people with bitty schedules like me.

Yes the dots are back in beta 3 however there are still no events listed in month view. You still have to click the day and it brings you into day view and you have to scroll up and down to see the event(s). Still useless at this point (although at least we're halfway there). Really really hoping they "fix" this.

Yeah, that's really the worst part. But based on the design of the app, I don't see them fixing that... Where would it fit?? :(

No preview pane!?!? WTF

Not we have a picture of a calendar with dots. In this busy life, most of us have dots every day. I can't understand Apple's stupid logic for providing this with no color code and no preview pane. Now all i have is a calendar with dots in every month rather than a calendar without dots.

This.

Absolutely useless for those of us who have appointments everyday. The point of month view for me (and I'm assuming many others also) is not to quickly see IF I have an appointment for the day, but rather WHAT that appointment is. Was absolutely perfect in iOS6. Who knows if they'll bring back that functionality because, as another poster said, where will it fit? THey brought back the dots though so we can keep hoping....

This is no good Apple. :(
