Now I know I have said a lot on here that the pro is too big, not worth the extra price from the air 2.

However I have felt recently considering I have the 6S plus, mini 4 and air 2 that I'm simply not getting enough use having all 3 devices.

It's almost like at times I'm barely using my 6S plus as I tend to use my mini 4 at work and air 2 at home. So I've decided for general tasks my 6S plus is what I will use and the pro can be my device mainly at home and out and about when I need some work or just browsing

So because of this I have decided to sell my mini 4 and air 2 to fund the pro. Because my mini 4 is on contract I've decided to buy the cellular iPad pro 128GB so I will take the pro with me and just put my o2 sim in my pro

Also decided to go all out and I have ordered the smart keyboard and the apple pencil

Quite surprised that the pencil is only 7-10 days wait as thought it was 2-3 weeks

Ah you gave in the end lol

In trying to avoid buying any gadgets right now. I don't think I'll be able to last until the end of the week though:oops:

your forum signature is going to shrink! lol

I made the same reasoning:

iPhone 6s Plus
iPad pro 128 Cellular
iMac 27" 5K

No need for a Macbook or a smaller iPad anymore.
Think a lot of have the pro have said once you get the pro you can't get used to any other size again

Well my problem is that I don't want to get rid of any of my devices. I want to keep the MacBook Air as my real computer. I want the mini because it's portable, despite the fact that I don't use it very often. The only device the pro could replace is my air 2 as they would both be serving the same purpose, using at home. However what about going on vacation? I'd never take the pro as its too big and the mini is too small. Yet I'd happily take my air 2 on vacation. Also I just like knowing that I could take my air out if I wanted to, yet I'd never take the pro outside of the house. If I kept all three I know I wouldn't use the air at home anymore.

I'm just coming across as spoiled lol

Can get where you're coming from

I personally will always keep my MacBook Pro as there are times when I will need it. Just feel with the mini as great as it is having it takes away from my 6S plus for a lot of general tasks. I spend £800 on my phone so I should be using it a lot to be worth it.

It's good to reevaluate the technology that one uses to determine the best mix of devices for what needs to get done.

After giving away a ton of technology, I still have quite a bit remaining, but I primarily focus on using:

21" iMac, 11" MBA, iPad Air 2, and Android smartphone.

My hope was that the iPad Pro would be able to replace my MBA and Air 2. Unfortunately in its current state it can't. But if Apple improves the iPP to support a trackpad/mouse and USB presentation remote then I can remote into my iMac using the iPP for those functions that I need the MBA for and of course do what I currently do on the Air 2.

Our needs change along time, that is why we can't have a definitive statement about any device. If it will be useful for you, go for it. I have an iPad Pro and it is definitely fantastic! I am still on my 14 days return period, so if I realize it was not money well spent I will return without any remorse. However, I think iPad Pro is really great and a step at the right direction. The only thing that sometimes makes me think about returning is the high price invested in this device.

Yesterday I gave in too and I ordered an iPad Pro. I am 45% sure it was a mistake though... I bought it mainly because of that damn Pencil... I hope it'll be worthwhile.

Nice, I am sure you are going to be very happy, I think it will be interesting to see if you start using your 13inch Mac less :)

Already am in fairness, think the pro could be a replacement for many things thinking about it

I came to the conclusion last year just to buy whatever is released and try it out, ignore the forums as much as possible for 7 days and after that check and see if people agree with my gripes (Buyers remorse and/or crazy expectations). The idea being to put the 14 day return period to good use. The Apple Watch I returned, to repurchase 4 months later second hand for a significant saving. The Apple TV 4 was to replace to ATV3, I ended up moving it to another screen in the house and the iPad Pro was to replace the iPad 4, I kept that also.

My rule is all my 'new' devices should be portable, as such there's alot of overlap: rMBP, iPad Pro, iPad 4, iPhone. I could probably get by on 2 devices but the flexibility they offer is great.

Thought for protection I've ordered the sillcone case for taking it out and about

Ouch says my wallet

I understand wanting to stick to using your phone while you're out and use the iPad at home, but why did you decide to get the Pro instead of just selling your mini and continue using your Air just at home? What changed your mind about the Pro being too big?

And if you got the cellular Pro to bring with you, you're changing quite a bit.

I got the mini for mainly work but I found I wasn't using it as much as expected. That said because I took it out on contract I dont want that data to be wasted and I feel the pro will be useful for trips away, work business trips and when I'm round my girlfriends.

In terms of size I dunno I found using the air was fine to hold and I just fancied giving the bigger screen a go as I here thought it wouldn't be an issue having more screen to work with.

Selling both air and mini is to not make it quite so costly so getting £500 back for those would help the blow of the amount I'm spending

Well, I hope you like it. I played with a Pro in store a few times and it's definitely too big and heavy for me. It's barely heavier than the original iPad, but the size makes it feel much heavier when holding with one hand (to use the other hand for navigating the device).

The speakers and extra 2GB of RAM over the Air 2 would be so nice to have, though. :)

Threads like these are not helping as you were one of my last hopes to fight the urge.

Congrats!
