Call of Duty 4

I'm pretty sure this has come up countless times in other game forums, but amazon.com and other companies simply estimated their own release date when accurate information isn't available from the game publisher.

There's no reason for Aspyr to secretly tell Amazon.com the release date while not mentioning it to ANYBODY else...

They're just as much in the dark as we are... except they have a nice web site to display their guesses on - something that each of us doesn't have.

i.e. NONE of those sites have any idea what they're talking about. This happens with every game that has an unknown release date.... probably because it's hard for them to get people to sign up for a preorder if they don't provide you with a date... even if it's fake.
 
Yep - its like release-date-roulette - you pays your money and takes your chances. I just hope its release date slips are due to aspyr making final touches to ensure the game works flawlessly ;)

(yeh yeh and the moon is made of cheese....)

I'm not putting down my money until I know what chamber the bullet is in :)

Mass Effect for Windows should be coming in the mail in a couple of days. That should hold me off for a while.

After that I'll have to decide if I want to spend some more time with Team Fortress 2 waiting for the mac version of COD4, or if I'll just go for the pc version.
 
I'm hoping that this game comes out sometime soon. Play.com are listing release for August, but Amazon.co.uk are saying at the end of this month :confused:
 
Oh man i hope its here by mid July! I have been looking forward to this for a long time! I hope the demo gets released relatively soon as well.

Aspyr Media, Inc. announced today that the release of Call of Duty ® 4: Modern Warfare ™ for Mac has been pushed back slightly to the third quarter of 2008.

Aspyr Studios has chosen to continue to spend more time in development with the title in order to ensure a high-quality gaming experience for Mac gamers.

So it looks like it is going to be delayed to later in the summer. July to August is now looking to be the timeframe.:(
 
As a point of info, I received an E/M from Amazon about my pre-order for this game, and now they're saying that shipping is scheduled for Aug, 28, 2008. Which, I believe, is about the same time as the release of Spore. Oh, boy.
 
I hate Windows but....

I'm hooked on COD4. I was running a XP Home demo thing. The time has come to buy and i dont have the serial number. So off to the store i go to buy a real version of XP. Here's my question, how do i save my player profile when i reinstall Windows or do i even have to? Thoughts fellow Mac Men please!

i havent played any video games in about 2 years. i love war games and before my extended break i played them about everyday. ive heard about COD4 and i really want to get it on mac. I have the G5 Mac OS X and i want to start playing video games once again. COULD YOU FELLAS LET ME KNOW ON SOME OF THE ACCESSORIES I WILL NEED TO HAVE IN ORDER TO PLAY IT WITH GOOD GRAPHICS AND ALL? IF I WANNA PLAY A GAME I WANT IT TO LOOK GOOD TOO!!! ALSO....DOES IT HAVE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER FOR MAC, AND IS A HEADSET ABLE TO BE USED DURING GAMEPLAY..I LIKE THOSE KIND OF THINGS..=)....

CoD4 written for OSX coming soon

September 14 shipping to stores - saw display in EB games a couple days ago
 
Release date september 15th 2008.

So.... where is it?

On Aspyr's page it's still listed under "Coming soon".
And there is no mention of a Mac port of CoD4 on the official page.

They better have gotten it out already, another push back would just be lame.

It was supposed to be in May 2008 to begin with after all.

EFF! It doesn't matter, it'll be full of cheaters using AimBot and other gay cheat tactics.
C'mon they're even cheating on Mario Kart Wii! A kid's game!
Seriously, if you cheat at video games (which have no value in the real world) then you have to be an absolute loser.

I think one of the requirements is a keyboard that doesn't switch to All Caps.

Call of Duty 4 is available

Picked it up at Fry's today. But it won't play; error message says "Not authorized" and it doesn't matter if I try to play as Admin or not. Can't figure it out . . . yet.
