Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile finally launched globally today on iOS and Android, after spending the last couple of years in various beta versions and soft launches.

The game features two main Battle Royale maps, Verdansk and Rebirth Island, as well as cross-progression for players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and the PC/console version of Call of Duty: Warzone.
Level up your weapons and XP no matter where you are. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile supports shared progression with the console and PC versions of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III. Simply log in using your Activision ID, and most content acquired in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone is seamlessly transferred and becomes continuously available between your games.
For gamers playing on iPhone 15 Pro models and iPads with an M1 chip or later, the game includes a "Peak Graphics" mode that runs in 2K with improved textures, lighting, draw distance, ambient occlusion, and resolution caching.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile requires iOS 16/iPadOS 16 or later, and has been available to pre-order on the App Store since November 2022, back when Activision was originally targeting a May 2023 release. More than 50 million players have pre-registered for the game already, according to MacRumors sister site TouchArcade.

Is this level of gaming possible with a phone that stutters just from doing taxing things like switching between apps or typing on the keyboard?

You do realize that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is literally one of the fastest machines on the market for these "taxing things like switching between apps or typing".

Even the M2 Ultra Mac Pro and M2 Ultra Mac Studio have a weaker processor for these type of tasks, as they have a lower single core performance than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

If your iPhone is stuttering for these "taxing things", it's time to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max which has none of these issues like your iPhone.

Shame the developers didn't spent five more minutes to add Mac Catalyst support. Okay I get that it might be slightly more than 5 minutes, especially as testing is required (although nowadays companies seem to release beta software into the wild and let the consumer test), but it would have been minimal effort to have this roll out on Mac as well.

Been playing on my 14 Pro Max, it's a little jerky in the default graphics, but it also defaults to 60fps and it makes my phone run hot. Need to change some settings, not a bad game though.

I have limited the games I play on mobile though because my Steam Deck and PS5 are so much better, and no free games stuffed full of IAP either which is nice.

Why would they use their time and resources brining a mobile version of COD Warzone to Mac? Is the PC and Console version of the game not on Mac??

lol I’m talking about my iPhone 15 pro max, and it’s stuttering as I type this.

Btw I tried to install this game and it told me my phone doesn’t have enough space even though I have over 160 gb’s of free space. 😅

Then time to send it back to Apple because my iPhone 15 Pro Max is fluid. This thing has even a more powerful processor than a M2 Ultra Mac Pro for these "taxing tasK" you described, so it's not a problem of not having enough power.

Well this is my second 15 pro max, Apple support is hostile so I’m not sure they’d be of much help.

Well, I just installed the game on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and so far it ran super smooth and the graphics looked pretty good too.

So if your iPhone 15 Pro Max is even struggling with very basic things, then maybe try doing a complete clean reinstall again or whatever.

I’ve thought about that but it’s such a pain.

I don't get how people are playing on their phones with games like that.

I mean, yes technically you can, and now even the graphics aren't horrendous anymore.
But why would you choose to play this On A pHoNE? FFS.

I get it for casual games, idle stuff and point and click like adventures or uber simple platformers a la mario run (or mario kart, but with some limitations).

But the controls... having to use onscreen controls is really a poor experience.
You'll probably say get a controller or a Backbone. I had both.
Having to constantly fight with the phone to have it stop acting as a phone, then fiddle with the settings, and make sure everything stays charged, or simply not forget to lug the controller with you phone and chargers.

As a dedicated console gamer, I swear I tried, but as long as Apple doesn't consider building a true "game mode" that turns the os into a real console (disabling anything that could break the game as long as you're in it) this will not fly. If you want to game on the go you're a thousand times better served with a switch or a steamdeck (heck even the PS Portal delivers better experience).

---

Considering these studios are still pouring money into these games, they must make their money back in some way.
I guess there's a public for that. Must be the same persons who never cared about learning how to use their phones to make a call other than holding it like a waffle.

That because Mac platform sucks for gaming and it will never be solved.
