It runs on an iPad as well, if an iPhone is too small for you. But yes, it's fun on an iPhone. Is this really "fun" on such a small screen?
I’ve been toying with playing it on my iPad mini. Would have to try it though. Absolutely wouldn’t play on my iPhone miniIs this really "fun" on such a small screen?
I think the poster is referring to how smooth animations used to be on iOS across the board going back many years and how even though we have insanely powerful chips in these devices they just aren’t optimized like they used to be. iOS 6 on an iPhone 4 has smoother animations than an iPhone 15 running iOS 17…..iOS has been full of micro stutters for years and to some it’s a visual death by 1000 cuts. You do realize that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is literally one of the fastest machines on the market for these "taxing things like switching between apps or typing".
Even the M2 Ultra Mac Pro and M2 Ultra Mac Studio have a weaker processor for these type of tasks, as they have a lower single core performance than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
If your iPhone is stuttering for these "taxing things", it's time to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max which has none of these issues like your iPhone.
Damn this was the info I was looking for. Pretty disappointing. Call of Duty Mobile at least separates touchscreen from controller players so it's a somewhat level field. Was hoping this was the case for Warzone also.No separation between touch screen players and controller players, literally makes the game unplayable .
Controller support for COD Mobile is terrible anyway. But here it is the opposite. Touch screen is laggy and unintentional button triggering is way too commonDamn this was the info I was looking for. So we are back to my original point, it's a shame that this game hasn't been 'ported' to Mac by ticking a few boxes in Xcode and enabling Mac Catalyst. I don't disagree with you that there are not enough games on Mac, and in that regard the platform does 'suck', but its no longer because the hardware and operating system are not capable, and recent ports of AAA games show that Apple Silicon is a 'game changer' (excuse the pun), especially when Metal 2 is used.I said the platform is terrible. What are you talking about? How many new games released in macOS in last 3 years? Only a few. Being capable has nothing to do with it.
Despite Apple making a porting kit, literally nobody wanted to port their games to Mac after all.
There were AAA games even in Intel Mac era and Apple Silicon Mac is NOT a gamer changer. Instead, it made it worse. Be aware that Intel Mac can also use Window games via boot camp while AS Mac can NOT. You see, Intel Mac is already capable with hardware and OS. It's just Mac itself sucks for gaming, that's all. Nothing complicated. But now, Apple Silicon killed it.So we are back to my original point, it's a shame that this game hasn't been 'ported' to Mac by ticking a few boxes in Xcode and enabling Mac Catalyst. That because Mac platform sucks for gaming and it will never be solved.
And it was TOO obvious that game was not ported to Mac.Like I said, it's just a shame this game wasn't ported to Mac, it would have been very little effort for the developer.

I can never understand how anyone can play a FPS with a controller coming from a W-S-A-D upbringing. Swore I'd never be able to use a screen as a controller either and then ... tried CODM.I don't get how people are playing on their phones with games like that.
I mean, yes technically you can, and now even the graphics aren't horrendous anymore.
But why would you choose to play this On A pHoNE? FFS.
I get it for casual games, idle stuff and point and click like adventures or uber simple platformers a la mario run (or mario kart, but with some limitations).
But the controls... having to use onscreen controls is really a poor experience.
You'll probably say get a controller or a Backbone. I had both.
Having to constantly fight with the phone to have it stop acting as a phone, then fiddle with the settings, and make sure everything stays charged, or simply not forget to lug the controller with you phone and chargers.
As a dedicated console gamer, I swear I tried, but as long as Apple doesn't consider building a true "game mode" that turns the os into a real console (disabling anything that could break the game as long as you're in it) this will not fly. If you want to game on the go you're a thousand times better served with a switch or a steamdeck (heck even the PS Portal delivers better experience).

Considering these studios are still pouring money into these games, they must make their money back in some way.
I guess there's a public for that. Must be the same persons who never cared about learning how to use their phones to make a call other than holding it like a waffle.
I can disagree with whatever I want. And clam down, you’re not that important to me, and I doubt you have a partner to be important to.Look, @The Don Onez you are more than welcome to disagree with a post. Its a free country. But how can you disagree with a personal statement? Are you secretly my partner spying on my forum habits? Do you know I've done more laundry than gaming this week?![]()
I finally accepted this and gave up. Windows computer solely for gaming + steam game streaming = best Mac gaming is going to get for a long time.
Not when it makes no logicla sense to do so though. My statement of 'I've been playing a lot of Hades this week' is along the lines of 'I went to the shops' or 'I had Fish and Chips for tea.'I can disagree with whatever I want. And clam down, you’re not that important to me, and I doubt you have a partner to be important to.
Right there with you. Currently building a gaming PC... Wont be long before i don't need an Apple anymore its allot of money to spend on a computer if all its worth to me is Email and web browsing......
Your numbers are counting silly kiddy games with little play value like flappy bird and son on. Steam has less games for Mac then they did 5 years ago especially since Apple silicon. Battle.net is all but giving up on Mac. there are even fewer AAA GAMES now then there was 5-10 yeas ago. COD, Counterstrike and many more. Your reality is distorted by your statistics.I see some disinformation spreading here again as usual about Mac being a terrible gaming platform, only a few Mac games being released in the past three years and Apple Silicon has made gaming worse? Anyone capable of using internet can see that the numbers say otherwise.
According to Steamdb since 2019 the number of Mac releases has increased almost each year. During 2021-2024 we’ve had 16,110 Mac releases. That’s not ”a few”. Even compared with Windows that’s an amazing number of releases because Mac only has 1.32% of Steam user base but gets 25-30% of the game releases.
2024 21% of Windows releases
2023 24%
2022 27%
2021 24%
2020 31%
2019 30%

So if Mac was such a terrible gaming platform it wouldn’t get 25% of the releases with only 1.32% of the Steam market share. According to Steam survey 70% of Mac gamers also use Apple Silicon. We can see that despite that fact Mac got the highest number of game releases in 2023, 5,407. So Apple Silicon indeed hasn’t made the situation worse.
Remember that there are also both AAA games like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding and smaller games that are not released on Steam but only on MAS so the number of releases is higher.
I’m sure people who can’t accept facts or just don’t like Macs will as usual disagree with this post but numbers don’t lie, people do. The same people will also probably as usual start throwing in other arguments against Mac like price, performance, upgradability and lack of more major titles (due to small gaming market share) but that wasn’t the discussion here. Just like Xcode being described as one of the best game dev tools and ”next gen” by industry people like Sebastian Aaltonen isn’t the subject of discussion either.
