Stop by an AT&T store on my way home yesterday afternoon, talked to the manager, she said the store most likely will only have space grey color, but she won't know exactly until this evening when the iphone 5s deliver to the store.

Stopped by my store and they said they have more grey but do have silver and gold.

who knows.

AT&T store in NYC near my office said they have no idea until early morning what quantity they are getting. Said every year it varies depending on what Apple wants to do. No reason to not believe him as he's been my reliable vendor for 6+ years.

He said there's always a few lunatics who come at 3am but critical mass builds at 6:30am.

Critical mass... Haha love that term when talking about hoards of people

I called AT&T in the city next to mine and he said he was sure that they were going to get the 5S tomorrow and didnt know how many.

The AT&T in my city said that they were going to get the phones in tomorrow and that they would open up at 8 am. So ill head up there right before closing time and talk to them again maybe they will know something then about stock

A employee at my local att store posted this on their instagram:)

Now was that the full shipment of iPhones they had at that store? 4:1 ratio of 5c:5s?

Take this for what it's worth....

I went into the AT&T store this morning to get an unrelated matter resolved. I asked the guy about iphone 5s' and the rep there told me that the "region" is only getting 1,000 iphone 5s's. He didn't define region(I'm in the middle TN area), but made it sound like it was going to be a complete nuthouse for people trying to get a hold of one. As I was walking out of the store, the FedEx truck was unloading boxes(that looked like the one's in the picture above) and he told me "those are probably them". I jokingly offered to buy two right then and there and he said he wished he could. Anyway, between there being 5c's and 5s, it sure didn't look like a lot for a major AT&T store for a large suburb of middle TN.

Again, I'm not saying I believe this guy and have no reason to believe he knows anymore than we do, but I just wanted to relay what I was told and what I saw.

Good luck tomorrow everyone, but keep in mind that it is just a phone after all. We all want to have the latest and greatest ASAP(myself included), but don't let some bad luck or stock running out ruin your day or your anger ruin someone else's day.

can't see this being nation wide. Apple would know not to do this, hoping for a different outcome tomorrow. though I'll be going after work, not keeping my hopes up for the gold but maybe they'll get an extra shipment in later in the day rather than only one today/tonight.

If this is true, prepare for angry crowds of people. Imagine standing in line for hours to only be told "I know you were 2nd in line; however, we're out of stock, but here...try a 5C!"

I cannot fathom Apple being this under prepared for an iphone. I would think they would slip the release date before pissing the masses off. Surely they have 2.5 to 3 million ready for this weekend's launch.

I'm hopeful this rumor doesn't pan out.

Based on past launches, did AT&T have more or less stock than Best Buy? My local Best Buy is doing the ticket system. I have not heard of AT&T stores doing this.

You know, online ordering maybe easier this time around because this is gonna cause lots of people that would normally pre-order to drive down and wait in line.

These people are gonna be pissed when they realize they can't get what they want...then drive home to order it online only to discover shipping has slipped 2-4 weeks!

this is what im contemplating right now. not sure if I want to take the chance after work or not have to worry and wait a week or so?

1.) I don't assign any real credibility to that AT&T rep.

2.) 1,000 iPhone 5S for the TN region of JUST AT&T stores (since an AT&T rep wouldn't have access to regional shipments for other resellers in the region), is actually not that bad...

I was just told that they didn't get any gold iPhone 5s's.And they only have
what is pictured so far.But they are expecting another delivery this evening and a express shipment in the morning

To add more fuel and speculation....

Stopped by mt ATT store on lunch... They said they will have all 3 5S colors and 16,32, and 64GB.

who knows

Seriously if I did not just sell my iPhone 5 today I would order online. It's going to be a nightmare in the morning and lucky to even get one. At least you will online it maybe a couple days but truthfully I want you all to stay the hell home and let those with extreme immediate need wait in line..

Yea yea I know but seriously ordering on line really sounds like the best option. I have camped out on every launch getting to a AT&T store around 3 am. Today I went in the store to check on my lines and I was not encouraged at all by the sales rep . No idea how many and she was not very pleasant on top of that.

I have a really bad feeling this time I'm going to get hosed. Oh BTW you need 2 phones go to Apple as AT&T will only sell one per customer and my bet only grey color.

I may bite the bullet and go to the Apple store instead. There I know I would get a phone even if the difference was a hundred people between AT&T and Apple. Maybe more as AT&T does not get a lot like 30 it was last year. I'm in Phoenix with 4 Apple stores city wide.

My local store said they will all 3 colors and all the sizes but I know they don't really know. I made a reservation at target but that's not a guarantee either. I'm trying to get one launch day because I already sold my phone before I knew apple wasn't going to allow preorders. I'll be at att early so hopefully I'll get one.

I just called my at&t store but I only asked about the 64gb. He said they'll only have them in silver but luckily that's the colour i want :)

Commission at wireless carriers is the same regardless of the device being sold. Unless it's a non smartphone. Commission isn't paid out on the device sold it's paid on on the plan attached to the device. In contact with various AT&T people around chicago and they are all reparting space grey only

i read some where that the white and gold iphone will be hard to get. maybe apple is saving those phones for there stores.

i found this...

9to5Mac's Mark Gurman claims three of four units shipped to Apple Stores will be the new Space Gray color -- gold and silver options will be more difficult to come by -- while phones meant for AT&T's network will be more plentiful than those for Verizon. He also says 16GB and 32GB models will be in greater supply than 64GB units.
