Dang, I just called my 2 local AT&T Corporate stores in Modesto, CA. Both confirmed only space grey in stock tomorrow. I was planning to use AT&T's Next program (I've run the numbers and looked at it from different viewpoints), which can only be done at AT&T. Space Grey does look nice, and I've gotten bored of standard all black phones, so going crazy with gold is a bit tempting. Though, if I plan to trade it in every year in good condition, it' might be best to use a case for the first time. Then it really doesn't matter the phone color, unless I cared about a white front.

My local att store said they have them but wouldn't give me any details on how many, what colors, etc. I have to admit I feel like an idiot trying this hard to spend money.

I dont mind apple keeping people in the dark on what products are coming; it adds to the fun and generates some hype. But making it this hard to buy something and all the secrecy about what stock is where... what is the point of that? Limited stock and less chance of getting a phone doesn't make me MORE likely to buy, it makes me LESS likely to buy.

Not they they give a care or that this rant will make a difference. But hey...

Just got off the phone with 2 local ATT stores and both confirmed Space Grey ONLY. Bummer......

So here's a question....

Assuming ship times will start out at 7-10 business days....Does anyone think you may get the phone quicker by ordering through a carrier rather than Apple?

And if we do order online through a carrier will they go live at 12am PDT as well?

This officially sucks. Oh well--guess I'll join the online ordering masses at 3 am. My 5 pretty much feels like a new phone with iOS7 anyway, so I can hold off for a few days. :)

FWIW the local AT&T store near my office in NYC said they had 200 units. So I think getting one won't be that difficult if this one little store had 200. Granted she had no info as to colors and sizes.

This is what it will be like, Space Grey in stock at most major U.S. retailers and a few white may show up in the days to come. The Gold is probably going to be hard to come by for like 2 months. Go ahead and order online to save yourself the time and hard ache...

That will include the 5C as well. Stores are getting more 5C's in stock.
