I have not been a Demi, nor been warned or timed out (yet) but I have had at least one post deleted without warning... and a couple edits. Kinda scratched my head over the deletion, and figured maybe I didn't put an emoticon where I should have, so my post read like an insult instead of a joshing remark. But I couldn't remember exactly what I'd said. So :D i will probably do it again sometime and end up banned. At least now I know being a Demi wouldn't help me ;)

I had one of my threads deleted as spam, but I wasn't banned for it.

I think arn is the only one who can't be banned, both technically and because he has the final word on membership issues. I'm not sure about blakespot, but he hasn't caused much trouble anyway.

The only rule I knowingly violate is the one about making consecutive posts, because sometimes it seems more useful to break information into separate posts, as for an announcement. Example: How to send messages to moderators.

But I've managed to multi-post for personal threads too. Example: Top 50 Posters Extrapolated, July 2009. So far I've gotten away with it. If the moderators think I'm just trying to add to my post count, not trying to make it easier for members, then I hope they'll send me a warning instead of having the bouncer escort me out.

Yes, thats what I also think, but according to Q's post, it seems, thats not the case.

huh? where did you infer that?

arn cant be banned...he owns the site
i believe blakespot cofounded the site with arn bck in the day as well

Dr Q doesnt own the site and could be banned by arn if he wanted to

They are both gods however

iThink that it was more the:
Moderators>Gods
Gods>Moderators

Q's post definitely indicates the former.

Those bolded sections clearly indicate he is inferring he is inferior to a Mod. Spooky.

Gods have more access to the site than Mods do.

Mods can edit all posts, but so can gods. Arn is the only one that can ban who ever he wishes.

Yet, that still doesn't mean he can't be banned from posting. I'm just saying what he Inferred to.
Anybody can be banned for anything, Mods an Gods I'm sure have more leeway. If a God was to be banned I am sure that the final ruling would come from Arn and nobody else.

So, when you are banned or in time out, what do you lose? (is it only that you can't start new thread?) i.e. what's the big deal?

You can no longer use excessive emoticons in your sig if banned or put in TO.

Time out and ban are the same, just a time out you will return, a ban you are gone for good.
