then connect to USB and open iTunes b7

you will see in iTunes under Summary tab restore to original settings, click the restore and let it download 4.3.5 .

allow 30 minutes for full restore and download pending on your internet speed . just let it do it and if your iPhone is legitimately connected to a network without any jailbreak solutions you will not have a problem.

reiterate DFU MODE is different than recovery you know when you are in it because it will have a blank black screen without the Itunes connect logo.

good luck .

This won't work.
At least it didn't work for me.
And I've seen dozens of posts in the last day from others saying it didn't work for them either.
I suspect it's because of the answer above that you can't use an iTunes beta to restore to 4.3.5.

Try it but if it doesn't work then reinstall the latest release version of iTunes and try again.

How do I install the latest real version of iTunes (not beta) ?
Won't it not let me and say "there is a newer version of iTunes already installed?

i had no problem this afternoon restoring to 4.3.5

however if you are familiar with terminal just cut and paste this into the terminal window

sudo rm -fdr /Applications/iTunes.app

now install official iTunes

what does copy pasting that into terminal do for me?

And how did you get back to 4.3.5??

it uninstalls your iTunes allowing you to install older version(official release)

as I quoted above in the thread . DFU mode !

Oh okay, I should do that then if I know I can put the phone into DFU mode and downgrade to 4.3.5

hmm well i tried the DFU mode before and then the phone would just display the icon saying to plug the USB into phone to connect to computer... even tho it was plugged in already.

if you are seeing the icon to connect to iTunes you are not in DFU mode !

please read this again http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034, tried to help but unless you get into DFU mode it is not going to allow you to downgrade.

Okay I'll try that when I get back from my night class tonight.
So first I downgrade to the old iTunes, by typing that thing into terminal and then redownloading the real release of iTunes from apple.com/whateverblahblah;
Then I plug in the iPhone and put it in the DFU mode?

Then I set it up as new iPhone, then I click to reload all my stuff from my last sync right?

When I try to run the official release iTunes it says "iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"
what the hell do I do?

Dude, do yourself a favor and try Google for once.

I assume that you had a backup of your system BEFORE you started deleting things. Your playlists and config files were deleted in the process and will have to be set back up. The phone is not bricked, you just aren't doing it correctly to get it restored.

Yet another link...

It can be done as I have done it.

Hmm alright I'll try doing that then, but the last time i put it in DFU mode and tried restoring with 4.3.x it said "cannot restore iphone" error 1015 or something. like it freezes up when it goes to restore the firmware.

you say youve done it, but do you have an iPhone 3GS like me? or an iPhone 4?

Your step brother will give you most help. I hope he is a developer, but if all else fails, put it in DFU mode and revert back to iOS 4.

This is why non-developers shouldn't use Beta software..

I've done it to both. Get the full error as well and post it up.

1015 can be cleared but you may need a Windows machine to do it.

This method does work as well.

Yeah my step brother is a dev but he lives with my mom like 45 mins away from me and my dad. He has tried to help, but all he has said is what you guys are saying, which is put it in DFU mode and then revert back to iOS 4.

I understand this now, so in the future I wont use beta software. I've learned my lesson, what else do you wanna hear?

You are going to catch flak from us, sorry for that but the idea is scare people off of trying this in the future. Beta is beta for a reason and you are finding out the hard way sadly.

Let's focus on trying to get it fixed... ;)

Since no one has said it before now, sometimes in beta software they might disable a feature or features and add a feature or features that never make it into the final product. Using beta software for production is a really bad idea for a whole host of reasons and perhaps the biggest is backward compatibility. One beta version might not be compatible with a prior one and all beta apps might be incompatible with the current shipping product.

Beta is beta. Full of bugs. Not much immediate support for the time that someone hits one. That is why, years ago, Microsoft was touted as doing 'public beta's' with the buggyness of their shipping software. And old Microsoft software was famous for having one patch break something that was fixed on a prior patch that then required yet another patch.

Hello everyone, I would publicly like to announce I am a dumb ass.
I finally got my phone back to iOS 5 Beta 7, and then I went into my texts and I deleted them all, like the huge message threads from my ex gf and random other ones of people I dont talk to much, and then that fixed the problem.
Apparently they must have shortened the amount of texts the phone will save until it becomes full.
Everyone feel free to post as many facepalm .jpg's and .png's and .gif's that you want. I am also willing to accept any other form of insults or flaming you would like to send my way.
Have a great day, thank you to all those who helped.

Got your phone back to another iOS 5 beta build? Why? I thought you learned your lesson about betas and were switching back to 4.3.5

Well I would switch back, but everytime I tried to it said it couldnt restore you know? And I figure if its working now after so long of it not working, Ill just leave it..

Why do I get the feeling that we will be seeing him again soon. :p

Hopefully not sir. I dont want any more problems.

Glad you got it working.

My advice... Wait until iOS5 is deployed. Update to it and then leave beta alone until you have a better understanding of what you are actually messing with. I'm not against using beta but you have to be prepared to pay the price if it starts to give you problems. ;)
