Can I only use the Theatre from iMovie? But not iMovie.

I am looking for a way to store my home movies in iCloud. Apple still hasn't have an option/app/solution for this. I recently read about iMovie Theatre: it stores homemovies in iCloud with an Apple TV to view them.
But I make my movies in Final Cut Pro X. Is there a way to bypass iMovie and load those movies in the Theatre without iMovie (re-encoding)?

Or are there any other good workflows for this?
