Well, for those that are buying a new iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus at a store (any store, not just Apple Store), I don't think they would allow installing software during the "testing if the device is defective" phase, nor would they allow plugging them into a Mac and running software to test the device.

If the iPhone 6S was on display, or was second hand, I think the video would allow you to see the model just by looking into the logs as shown in the video. Because at one time or another it must have been drained fully on its own. However, the problem is with a new phone out of the package. It would be difficult to force a battery drain unless the phone was not fully charged before packaging. I am not sure, but I think some phones are not fully charged out of the box, and in that case, it might still have the low battery logs.

OK I originally made a video showing how to determine the A9 CPU (Samsung or TSMC) but it seems Apple may have purposely not reveal the actual manufacturer. A better method was revealed and I have updated and made a new video showing how to force the Hardware Model in a new video. This one is 100% accurate. You don't need to download any software or jailbreak.

This was spooky great!

All of them do. You'll have to check with an App called Geekbench 3 to find out. It's the only way to know, but if you don't trust apps, then you might want to open up your phone and check.

If I find that the phone does not have the TSMC, can I ask the sales to open another box?

No. What you can do is take it to the Apple Store and they'll give you a replacement (aka Refurbished phone). So just stay with the one that you have. Trust me, you don't want to go through all of that for no big difference at all.

Peterpan, this is good advice. I've had my 6s with the Samsung chip for a month and a half. It has been great. There are a lot of things in life to be concerned about, but this is not one of them. Just get your iPhone and use it. If there is something really wrong with it, then return it. However, there is nothing wrong with the Samsung chip. Some folks have created a lot of unnecessary angst over which chip is in a particular 6s.
