It doesnt work the same way. I contacted the developers at Moom and they said Apple closed the API with Yosemite. Their workaround is to display options below the green button.

So, yeah, if it wasnt closed, RightZoom would still work. Apple does these things purposely; LESS CHOICE. Essentially, Apple's way or the highway. But we all know Apple's way doesn't apply to everyone.
If you didn't try to know that, you may not be able to know this. Removing functions and features without prior notice is a common phenomenon throughout those software companies, I guess. Therefore, some software will cease working over time.
Would it be possible to request them adding removed function list? I think this is highly unlikely.

LOL, pathetic. And I say this as I'm shopping for PC parts and about to finish building a PC/Hackintosh. Can't believe I'm actually slowly moving back to Windows.
And that is what windows is for. Maybe Microsoft will say: um, another user accidentally bought a mac, and found the software is so hard to use. Ha-ha!

I may try to use mac as long as I can, but I will not give up the capability and durability of Windows, at least, easily.

I was able to add a new partition using Disk Utility fine when booted from the 10.11 installer. My MacBook Air now boots 4 versions of OS X, on a 128 GB SSD :)

The new partition table graph is very sleek compared to the same one we've seen since 10.0.
You can do this, but I have a boot camp partition and I have installed many huge applications for my own use.
I cannot even arrange a partition for El Capitan test. :(

Forcing users to accept new things would eventually fail. No one like to be controlled unless she is ready for it.

It would be nice if you could stop polluting other threads with this wine. You already have a thread about this.

Has anyone found a way to edit partitions? Disk Utility isn't letting me create or change partitions and iPartition doesn't seem to work with El Capitan.

TechTool Pro has Disk Permissions command under it's Tool section. I have not installed 10.11 and wonder if anyone has 10.11 and TechTool Pro installed and if Disk Permissions can be repaired from there?

The Terminal command for repairing permissions is still there and works on 10.11.

"diskutil verifyPermissions /" and "diskutil repairPermissions /".

TechTool Pro doesn't work with Cappy. It will launch, give you a warning that it's incompatible, and then close when you try to use it.

Thanks. Well, I just got off the phone with the MicroMat folks, and was told that TechTool Pro 8 (I'm running 8.0.2) will in fact work with El Cap and the Disk Permissions command will work. Jackson, are you running TechTool Pro 8 or TechTool Pro 7?

Thanks, I'll grab it later today and give it a test-drive. :)

I guess because it's a paid upgrade from 7 is the reason I get the message I'm up to date. I may have ignored the update at sometime in the past, resulting in no further notifications, not sure.

I'm having a thunder/lightning storm going right now, so I'm closing out and I'll grab it later. Time to switch over to my iPad for a while.

Managed to squeeze in the update before switching off to the iPad.

Okay, so I tested and it does in fact show that it's repaired permissions. I currently have SIP turned off, so I'll have to turn it back on again and retest. I'll post an update a little later today, but I'm reasonably confident that it'll work fine.

^^^^GREAT! Thanks for the effort.

Lou

Sadly I was mistaken. I had installed it while booted to Yosemite instead of Cappy. This is what I'm getting from TechTool Pro 8 under OS X 10.11. This happens as soon as you click on the Tools icon at the top left of the TTP8 window.

Still using a HDD logo for an SSD. Oh well.

It's more common than you think. For example

- Envelope for email
- Old style telephone for phone app
- Snapshot camera for camera app
- Floppy disk for Save function

It's basically so users can easily identify what something is at a glance, and it's not just limited to icons either.

One is hidden right under your nose.
