In London right now.

I bought a Three SIM in London. Popped it into VZW iPad, went into Gerneral > About > Carrier and click on carrier version, a carrier update was performed automatically.

Went into Network settings, and Personal Hotspot wasn't there, so I reseted my iPad. After the reset, Personal Hotspot came back, Yay!

VWZ account page was gone, and replaced by the "APN Settings", which was already filled with "3internet", so no need to use APN changer.

When anyone goes back to the States, I recommend doing a Carrier Update via General > About > Carrier, so the carrier firmware can be reset back to the Verizon version. and you can then connect to VZW immediately.

Hi - I just wanted to say thanks for posting this info and the follow-up info about the various plan options. I went to London last week and at the last minute, decided to bring my Verizon iPad 3. Armed with the information from these posts, I walked into a Three store at a nearby mall, bought a 3GB prepaid SIM, popped it into the iPad back at the hotel, and was up and running with minimal effort. The hardest part was finding something suitable to eject the SIM tray with since I did not bring the ejection tool. Note: Sewing needles won't do it, but my daughter's earring post worked nicely!

With the Three service, I was able to turn on the personal hotspot (after power cycling the device 1 more time after initial connection), allowing 3 iPhones and another iPad 1 to share the Three connection to reduce data roaming on the phones. We were able to keep tabs on Superstorm Sandy and communicate with friends/family back home in Massachusetts. The 3G connection was surprisingly fast, too. I was so happy I found this thread and decided to bring the iPad with me - thanks again!

VZW iPad 3 in Spain?

I'll be traveling to Barcelona for a little over a week next spring - any suggestions on where to get a SIM for the VZW iPad?

Thanks -
