CANADA — iPhone X — Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

By the way, now that the reviews are out, what does everyone think about their colour choice? I bought 2, a silver and space grey. I'm going to pick the colour i like and my dad is going to get the other (he doesn't care what colour he gets). After watching 4K video reviews, I have decided to go with the silver. Despite the fact that I am a professional and the space grey iphone suits the look much better, I just feel that when the screen is off, it is not easily distinguished from a space grey 8+. Some people like the stealth, sleek, low profile aspect of it. For me, I'm going to have an iphone 10 and I want to know that everytime I look at it. The silver and chrome just pops and is gorgeous. I also have a lot of space grey Apple products already as well.

When I got the immediate confirmation after the order was placed it said 11/3. 30 seconds later i get the email and it says Nov 21-28. App didn't crash, I just wasn't able to get in until 3:05am. I'm starting to think I should have used LTE instead of wifi, i think it made a difference for me. My internet is not strong at all compared to what others have in the GTA.

i contemplated LTE as well but my internet is quite decent and more reliable.
i think it took me far less than 40 seconds to order however. I read an article on here that you should set up favourites and pay using apple pay/touch id. ordering probably ended up taking me around 10 seconds.

i had to use a gift card and re-enter my full name because of it. If I used Apple pay like i should have, there's no doubt I would have had it in within 10-15 seconds. Lesson learned for next time though. When the X+ comes out, I will be so prepared it is not even funny lol.

I was using my phone on LTE, my iPad on wifi and my Mac on ethernet. The Mac got in first (the phone a couple minutes later). For some reason they made me re-enter my shipping address. Then an unknown error, then Apple Pay messed up TWICE!!
3:06 order, confirmation at 3:08 - 20-27 window.

Just called UPS and asked to have my package stay at the Customer Centre. They checked and suggested that I call before delivery tomorrow and have them drop it at the Customer Centre. I explained to them that I didn't want the package on the local truck as this would only make it back to the CC at the end of the day and I wanted the package in the morning. He made some change and told me that the CC would call me tomorrow morning when the package will be ready for pickup.
Hope this works.

It now shows on the My Choice page as "Hold for Pickup"

Nice I'm going to do that too. I'm in Ottawa as well and don't trust UPS, the routinely put the missed delivery slip without ringing my doorbell.

You would think that they would know they are delivering iPhone Xs to people that will be ******** kittens till they get it, thus bash down the door to make sure you're not there !

Let me know if you’re successful in getting them to hold the package at a customer centre. Currently my tracking doesn’t give me the option to do so. It says that the customer centre is temporarily unavailable.

You wouldn't want to do it at this late stage with the app or website anyways....call your local CC.
 
Wow this is unfortunate! I placed my order at 00:03 PST and got charged not too long after. I made a modification to my credit card 2 days ago and they said it would be unusable for 5 days. The charge for the iPhone was removed today and it won't work when they try reprocessing it... iPhone is already marked as shipped and is waiting for pickup. FML

If you have another credit card or maybe a spouse/partner's card that you can use? Call Apple and get it switched....and I mean fast. :)

That is why I called. On UPS My Choice the Ottawa CC was showing as Temporarily Unavailable.

I had actually originally preordered the Space Grey early Friday and switched to Silver on Monday night after seeing some of the early reviews. I like the nod towards the early iPhone's the stainless steel band gives. It is going in a case as soon as I get it, but I will know what is underneath (and will sometimes undress it just to look ;))

I'm a professional too. I do agree the Space Grey is more subtle and stealthy for those who prefer a more under the radar phone. But the Silver (in my eyes) is just classy and beautiful. I have always been drawn to the lighter iPhone models, but am thrilled I can get the black notch/small bezel with that Silver glass back.

They could already be at the store for all we know. The reason that they won't update the scan until later is so people don't go into the store demanding their phones early. Me, I'd wait until the store was closed.
