Seems crazy that it's 100$ more. Anyone know if I can cross the border buy the iphone and come back with it?

Any restrictions on this?

I considered it too but...

If you factor in currency exchange, the fact you'd have to declare to customs and gas, it's about the same price.

I ordered my IPhone at around 4:45 MST and i got Oct 16-23. But it now says processing. So crossing fingers i get it in sept if not ill go line up and try my odds there

True if you wait like 3-6 months when the hype goes down and stock is available you can get better rates as the demand lessens, but right now and for the next 3 or so months it'll be too high of a demand for the product to get them to come down on the monthly fee when your getting them to carry the extra cost of the phone, this all goes away when you buy the phone straight out.

With Rogers I cancelled even after retention talked to me just cancelled and was going to switch, they give you 30 days before closing your line but before that 30 days is up they have someone even better than retention who calls you to keep you, that's when they offered me 50% off for a year of the $65 monthly plan so my bill was only $32.50 a month for unlimited canada wide talk text with pic/video, caller ID, voice mail and 2 GB of data, this is the power you get when you don't need them to carry the cost of the phone, they don't want to lose your business and since you're not in any contract or have to buy out the phone remaining balance you're able to get much better deals. You can also try out wind mobile which has towers in Calgary and you get unlimited talk, text and data(5gb) for $35 a month no contract.

I'm willing to wait until the craze ends, as I've mentioned. I will be breaking contract 18 months early to go back to Telus so I'm not in any big rush. Unfortunately Wind isn't an option as my main reason for switching away from Rogers is the coverage at the cabin in Sylvan Lake (not in town, but near Jarvis Bay...with Rogers I don't even get edge, but everyone on Telus has full bars on LTE).

I could look at Koodo and Virgin, but I've heard that sometimes those networks get throttled if there is lots of usage for the "big 3"..so I'm not sure I'd be happy with that.

HOWEVER, that being said, I didn't think I could negotiate the rates THAT far without having the phone subsidy .. so I will definitely look into it - thank you :)

Order Limit

Guys

Is there any limit on ordering?

I have ordered 6 iPhones and all shows in process. My credit card has also been authorized for all the 6 of them....

Just want to know if there is any limit and apple can cancel my order later?

You can get the plan with a cheaper base price. It's called Fido, Koodoo, or Virgin. I'm switching tomorrow in preparation.

The official Apple delivery map shows Friday delivery for pretty much everywhere other than extreme rural regions. Assuming you have a major city within driving distance, you should have it Friday.

Awesome. Makes me hopeful. Thanks for the info!

They fixed the map. If your email says “Delivers 19/9 - 23/9” and you live in the dark blue area, Apple says you'll get your iPhone by September 19th. [Reference]

Does that map apply for Rogers iPhones? Anyone know if they'll have them for launch day?

No, it'll only apply for Apple deliveries. Rogers will get stock allocation and ship out what they have. The lower your number the better, basically, but they have to distribute it across activations, business, upgrades, etc.

I'm number 26 for a 128gB silver iPhone 6+ (I reserved one as soon as I could on Rogers' website), do you think that would give me the chance to get one on day 1?

That's pretty good, but I'm really not sure, considering the rumours of supply constraints. Hopefully, though, unless the amounts are really tiny!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too... The Plus is version is going to be tough to spot the first few weeks... Oh well...

Thanks so much for the info though, I really appreciate it!

Wasted time trying to get in through the store app only to be denied until after 4AM. Finally was able to order a 6+ but got the 3-4 weeks shipping.

Oh well, I can wait.

I ordered a 6+ on the app and reserved a 6 for pickup at Fairview Mall at 10am. Going to check out both at the Fairview Apple Store and see which I like best. I've never been this torn between which new iPhone models I'm getting...

That's awesome, tried that with Telus but they gladly said that they'd cancel my services instead of trying to keep me. I even negotiated but they said they could move my data from 2GB to 500MB for two phones and save me $5 a month. Yay lol. Honestly, terrible customer service.

Thats because they know they can get away with it. No fear of competition...the canadian telecommunication sector is so poorly regulated, can you imagine how much roger and bell spend on lobbying up the regulatory boards.

Yesterday, I reserved a 6 64gb for pickup at my local Apple Store (Quebec)!

It was fast and painless.

My credit card just got charged for full price of a 64gb it doesn't show up in transaction but, my it shows up under funds available. I just hope apple doesn't charge again or something....

They'll only charge it once. The first time is a temporary authorization on the card, and then it'll eventually get posted as a transaction.

What kind of credit card is it? Only a handful of card issuers allow you to see temporary authorizations as they happen (Capital One, MBNA for example).
