CANADA — iPhone X — Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

I ordered one with apple at 3:02 am and got Nov 20-28 so called eastlink this morning to see if they had any when preorders opened at 8am for them and got a 256 GB space Grey for Nov 3rd pick up at one of there stores ...

I was tempting Eastlink but the retail price on it is higher than apples
 
Pre-ordered using Apple Pay from my iPhone, but I'm pretty sure my payment didn't go through! It says "order in progress" on the Apple website, but Apple isn't answering the phone when I try to call them to fix the issue! If the payment didn't go through will they let me know? Or will the order be delayed/canceled as a result?

I got an email stating my payment didn’t go thru, saying to go online and update my payment option.
 
In Calgary. Store wouldn't load on my desktop browser or my iPhone browser for over 10 minutes past 1 am. Then I kinda panicked when it finally loaded. Had to sign in again. Typed my password wrong. Then by the time I got it all through (less than a minute), it was Nov 21-28 estimate. I wish I could have used the app, but I'm still on 9.3.3 and iOS 10 is required. Oh well!

I might have missed other references, but this is the first I've seen of someone else having the Nov 21-28 estimate I got.

Site finally came up for me at 3:10am, ordered by 3:12am. I had a pause of "...really??" when the estimate came up, but figured, why not, let's see if it shows up earlier.
 
I'm in Calgary as well. The store came online for me (only on the app) around 3:05 and got my order through at 3:06. I got the 256gb Silver for Nov 3rd pickup 9:30-10:30. Anyone have any tips for picking up a preorder? It's my first time picking up a pre order and I want it to go smoothly. Thanks!

It’s actually a very simple process. Just go into the store, speak to the person right at the front of the store and let them know you have a reso. Someone will come by, scan your confirmation email and then bring out your shiny new X.

Depending on if you need them to help you set it up or not, you should be in and out within 20 mins.

Did anyone order from BestBuy.ca's $50 "pre-order" deposit? After about 15 minutes of errors on the Apple Store app - had the phone I wanted for in-store reservation, had a time slot selected, only to click pay, and it wasn't available anymore, I ended up going the BestBuy.ca route. I just wanted to get something for my troubles of staying up until 3 am. Might line up on release day at an Apple Store or just wait for things to die down a bit. The $50 is actually refundable if they run out of pre-order stock ("By placing this pre-order you're reserving a spot in line. The earlier you order, the earlier you'll get a phone. If we run out of stock during the initial release you can keep your place in line until we receive more inventory or you can leave the line and get your $50 deposit back.").

I mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm on a corporate plan where my company pays a big chunk of the cost if I order under a renewal contract, so my pre-ordering options were a little more limited than some. If this BestBuy.ca thing works, even if I don't get it in the first few weeks, it'll actually have been a close to ideal scenario for me.

I know the BestBuy.ca pre-order deposit doesn't guarantee a phone for release in the same way an Apple pre-order does (a Best Buy pre-order in the states works differently, akin to the Apple pre-order) but I'm curious if anyone else tried this BestBuy.ca route (or has in the past). Order was in around 25 minutes after pre-orders opened. When I woke up the next morning, it was no longer an option for new buyers (you can see the page but can't add a new pre-order to the cart anymore), so I assume they had at least some idea of how many pre-orders they were going to take (rather than just create an open-ended queue of pre-orders they have no intention of filling).
 
Ordered from Rogers. I’m #5 in the queue. So I presume I’ll be getting it on Nov 3rd.

I got 21-28 as well. I was using App Store app and had to switch to Apple’s website, when the app kept saying “We’ve got...”

Apple called me 30 minutes ago just to confirm I made the purchase and told me my phone was preparing for shipment but my online status hasn’t changed from order in progress and she said to expect it to change tonight by early tomorrow

Hmm, is there any particular reason why they would be calling customers to confirm whether or not they've ordered the phone? I don't recall this ever being done for other iPhone pre orders. It seems a bit odd, are you sure that the number that called you was a legit apple one?

what is was your estimated delivery day before the call ?

Got 21-28 Nov. Full price unlocked from Apple as I am with Freedom Mobile.
I am going to keep checking for pickup options and will call around on and after launch day up until my card is charged to see if I can get one sooner.

My husband, who ordered his through Telus in the afternoon, is getting his launch day.

Oh shyt i think i got it, if you didn't get the nov 3 window, then pickup will not be available.

Yes, it quickly went to 2-3 weeks for canada.
