It honestly sounds like it was completely random, but i'm blaming my internet connection on why in took so long for me to get in. I don't have gigabit internet as its not available in my area.
There were enough people (and not just in Canada) that the app didn't get in, in time. And something weird with the web store that a bunch of us had to put our addresses in again (even though nothing had changed).
There was enough that went wrong, I'm thinking it was all Apple's infrastructure....but I think it's worth giving them a call next week to find out.
Edit: I really can't get over how much stock the US carriers and Best Buy got. That just floors me. So many people still getting launch day phones hours later than those of us that ordered out of the gate. Just wrong.
Anyone think Canadian Apple stores will have iPhone X in stock on release day?

There was an option for me. But I didn’t select it, rather to delivery. This was on my iPad.

Funny, I'm in Montreal and my 7 nearest Apple stores didn't have the option for pick-up . . .
Pre-orders don't come out of store stock. That's a separate allocation. Apple's already said that there's going to be stock in store for walk-in's. Now, how many devices and whether all stores get them? Anyone's guess. My guess is every store will have stock...and not just 10 or 20. They want people dancing out waving the boxes over their heads.
I think Tim really wanted to recapture that launch day buzz after how little fanfare there was around the 8/8+
I couldn’t get into the store app until about 6 minutes after last night so I ended up with 2-3 weeks (Nov. 21-28). So to cover my bases I just stopped at the two Best Buy’s in town and put down $50 refundable deposits for pre-orders at both stores. At the first store I was the first person to preorder and 5th or 6th in line at the second store. Between the two of them I’m hoping I’ll still have a shot at having a X on launch day. I’ll keep the Apple order too just in case. Since Best Buy sells all iPhones unlocked now I’m just going to buy it without a subsidy through Rogers so I don’t have to change my plan.
I think I’ve done everything I can do for now, so I’ll just have to wait and see what happens next Friday.

Order completed 3:07am EST, 256gb Space Grey reserved at Yorkdale/Toronto for 10:30am. Used the app on LTE. Would have had 9am but got the Apple Pay invalid address error.

I ordered my from Bell (corporate site) this morning around 7 am EDT, and it just says "ships in 1-2 weeks", which I highly doubt is accurate.
I saw some people in the US are getting their deliveries updated from Nov 10-17 to Nov 3...is anyone seeing that in Canada?
I went with the saddle brown this year. I loved my black leather case on the 7+, but I was torn last year between black and brown so figured I’d switch it up this year.
Biggest factor for me was how good the case feels in the hand, and the fact that you get pretty good protection without adding much unwanted bulk to the phone. I know they’re expensive, but totally worth it IMO.
i think that has more to do with a technical messup. No one who ordered from tmobile originally got the launch date (obviously unintended). They just probably fixed the issue and now the delivery times are accurately reflected. I think we're way far down in the queue.

I got mine from Telus. It says it's shipping on Nov 2nd and will take 1-5 days. Weird that its shipping on the 2nd. Checked the website today and it's still the case. My brother ordered from Bell. It also says that it's going to ship in 1-2 weeks. Weird.
O just went to the mall today (around 11am) to a Videotron kiosk and asked to pre order and he did it and told me I should have it delivered nov 3rd since I was the second one preordering at the store..got the 64gb space gray (for 679$)
Also the dude only charged me 179$ for Apple Care + ...he must have given me Apple care plus for the 7 lol
