CANADA — iPhone X — Pre-Orders and Dispatch Thread

So just for the heck of it, I ordered an Apple folio case for my eventual phone. Shipping estimates are 2-3 weeks... but my card has been charged already. Order still shows as “in progress” on the sight. Hoping PFS is imminent.

If only our phones would follow suit. 🙄

IIRC, they do an authorization for the amount after ordering but then the charge doesn’t stick. When I ordered a DJI Mavic from Apple the charge showed up in my authorized charges 3 times before finally sticking.

I got 2 orders in, each for a single iPhone. Both emails received at 3:06. First order delivers Nov 3, second order Nov 20-27.

Same here - my second order was showing Nov 3 going into the cart and then Nov 20 when checked out.

These delivery windows are interesting now that I think about it. Seems (for Canada anyway) that either you get it on launch day (Nov 3) or 3 weeks later (Nov 20-27). I guess no stock allocations in between?

Mine is Nov 14-21 🙄

Interesting that Apple does that. I’ve never had that happen before. Good to know.

Anyways, I need something to look forward to. Let me (wrongly?) believe my case is shipping early! 😉
 
My order email came in at 3:03am. Nov 3rd delivery. Status has changed to PFS. Giddy up!!!

there must have barely been any stock for the Nov 14-21 delivery week, with the larger, real second wave being Nov 21-28.

I’m 21-28. Hopefully gets bumped up at least a week considering 1-2 week dates have been bumped up already.

I have a second phone reserved through Rogers and am 357 in that queue. Hopefully that doesn’t take too long to get through as well.
 
I ordered my phone through Apple's website and have a Nov 21 - 28 delivery date 🙁

However, at around 5AM I got an email from best buy about pre-ordering, so I jumped on that and put down a $50 deposit... hopefully I'm close enough to the front of the line that I can get a phone on Nov 3rd 🙂 If not, I can cancel that order, get my $50 back and just wait for the 21st...

Confirmation email at 12:04am PST... Delivery Nov 3.
Woke up at 7:00am to an email from Apple sent at 2:01am, "We're having a problem with your payment."
I was worried...
Tried to resolve in my account by entering correct information again which did not work. I ended up calling Visa. Discovered it had triggered their fraud protection which I got resolved, the payment went through and I did not lose my delivery date of Nov 3.
Later this morning (Oct 28th) my status changed to "Preparing to Ship."

I had also ordered separately the black leather case right after with confirmation email of 12:06am. It is being delivered Nov 2. I ordered separate because I did not want to make my order to complicated to increase success of Nov 3 date for iPhone X.

Also, why does Apple always make the deliveries on a Friday??? A Thursday would be better because it gives extra day - it is very common for there to be a delivery problem by the courier or missing delivery at home and come home to a UPS sticker on door... then one has to wait all weekend til Monday which would be super-frustrating!!! I am getting mine delivered to my work but I will also track it and go down to local UPS and get them to hold it for me like I have done in the past.
