That’s the best part. I’ve probably ordered a dozen devices over the past several years and they’ve always gone through the same routine and arrived on launch day. Yet here we are and I’ll still check frequently, LOL.

Mine is also PFS but just keep in mind that when I ordered my 8+ it went from PFS to Shipped to delivered in one day. So don't freak out if you see no movement till Tuesday/Wednesday.

The wait is SOOOOO long ! At least, I'll be able to see it in the different stores around here and try it a little.

Don’t worry, the hype will be dead by then so the wait will get easier. Just remember at the end of the day it’s still an iPhone running iOS 11, so the base experience is probably similar to whatever you’re using right now. It’ll be there before you know it!

He/she is not entirely wrong. I snagged a 6s the same way on the day after launch.

I have a feeling there will be some up for grabs, if you’re lucky enough to catch it. It’s easier for Apple to (unfortunately) blow us off, since we count as someone who has already “ordered”. They want to be able to cash in on impulse buyers too. :(

You're suggesting they'll turn people away on the 3rd so they can sell the devices the next day? :)

Or you mean all of the stock for walk-ins won't get used up?

Potentially both. For the 6s: I went to the store at roughly 1:30 pm on launch day. The line was minuscule (maybe 20 people) but there were many more than 20 phones along the back wall. I asked to buy one and was told that they had “no more” for today. They said all the ones at back were “reserved”.

I tried reserving the following day and got one easily.

I’m not saying there is a 100% chance you will get one... but it doesn’t hurt to try. At worst you just receive the order you already have now. :)

Heh, why not? :) Might even show up for a walk-in....if my date's still the 20-27 range come launch day.
 
Totally agree re Nov 4 in store reservations. What does it hurt? Feels very similar to past years, especially with the crazy 6/Plus launch. Pretty much every day the reservation site was updated at a specific time with stock allocated to new in store pick up reservations.

I started to refresh the Apple Store app on my wife's iPhone at 2AM (Winnipeg), store was back up at 2:03AM and I got my confirmation e-mail at 2:05AM for silver 256GB version with Nov 3 delivery. Then 2 hours later I got the same message as others about payment authorization issues and went thru the website and it all went thru then. Phone is PFS now since yesterday.

Will be interesting for me, going from years of Android use but what I like about my wife's iPhone is that even though it's the original 6 that has seen VERY HEAVY use it is still as snappy and responsive as it was on day one, while all my Android phones get sluggish after a while. Besides, my current Galaxy S6 Edge+ is showing some wear with green lines on the screen popping up randomly, good time to upgrade!

Lol wut, i got a launch day iPhone on the way
If you have a December delivery date, you have more of a chance getting it early starting November 4th 8am, that is when the walk-in reservations open again. Last year the JetBlack iPhone 7 and Plus were popping up in multiple locations everyday, with large quantities of stock. Soon enough there will be websites up to track these stock updates. Anyways, for anyone that has a late November delivery date, My 7 Plus last year was slated to deliver October 17th, but was shipped to my house by October 3rd.

I was pretty bummed out when I got Nov 21 - 28 delivery. Woke up the next day and adjusted my thinking.

Let's face it the thrill is going through the delivery cycle and that 1st day after receiving the phone. After a few days that goes away and we settle into having a phone that we really like. So who cares if it's Nov 3 or 3 weeks later. Only difference is I'll have that thrill period a few weeks after Nov 3rd.

Something to think about if your still upset about not getting Nov 3.

Heh, sorry buddy, but I LOATHE waiting!!!! Seriously....nothing stresses me out more. :) Sure, we'll likely get it sooner than currently stated, but I'll still take any chance I can get to get it sooner. :)
 
I have the dreaded 21-28 delivery date... But I also put a deposit down at best buy. If they email me on November 3rd saying it's available, I'm going to get it :)
