Went into a Bell store today to see if they had any preorders left and they said nobody had placed a preorder yet and that I shouldnt bother and just come in Friday morning. This is a Bell store in downtown Toronto on busy front st, about 5 mins from the financial district surrounded by condos. so doesnt look like a lot of excitement for this release in canada.

I pre-ordered for in-store pick up, I have a 6pm time, now it turns out I don't have to go in to work on Friday, does anyone know if I can just go to the store early to pickup my phone or will they make me come back at 6?

Any Canadians planning to grab an 8 in the US? The price seems more attractive with the strong cdn dollar.

I will. Buying a bell one for the subsidy and selling it for hopefully near cost. Then buying the 8+ in ny next weekend when i'm there.

From expirence call them in the morning, a lot of the times they do make you come at your time cause it's packaged and time stamped for it in the back

Can you do an in-store pickup for a telus online pre-order?

Yes you can, reserve on the Apple Store app through carrier I seen an option I believe for it

3 pages..wow the 8 is seriously getting no love. I can’t wait to get mine. Having said that anyone know how to track the phones. I’ve done it every year but with the support profile change I don’t know how to do it now.

Have you tried the UPS reference tracking using your phone number you used on the order under billing

iPhone are so expensive in Canada. Sad that we can't order one from Apple US...

$929 just for the simple iPhone 8. On US Apple Store with the conversion, it's $863.

I can afford the phone, but we need to say to Apple that it's unacceptable to sell phones at that price.

When you factor in the taxes, it gets even worse. Thinking of picking one up when I go to the US next month.

64gb iPhone 8 in Canada incl tax: $1050
64gb iPhone 8 in US incl tax: $760 usd or $940 cdn

I guess for $110 most Canadians aren't going to travel across the border just for that. But if you happen to be going there anyway, makes sense to buy it there.

Guess I will wait to see if there is some return at some Best Buy to get a refurbished or Open Box version of the new iPhone.

I have 15% tax, how much do you have :p

ya Apple does give the screw job to us in Canada, I get exchange rates but consoles and console games work out very close with current exchange rates, but Apple is way too high

Apple used to be a bit tighter with exchange rate for Canada. This recent round of pricing is quite off though. I can understand at times when they’re hedging against potential future changes, but this time it still seems weird. Even the iPhone X for example, $1299 would have been a nice round number (and still $80 above current rate), but they went all the way up to $1319.

Not sure if this is a good idea but going to my nearest Telus store tomorrow morning and see if I can get one. Odds are probably not but it's not in a mall.

My guess is that supply will be decent and that you’d probably be able to grab one tomorrow.

I am in Vancouver
Everything is so freaking expensive here, there is just not much disposable income to upgrade this year. If we pay less on gas, insurance and housing, I am sure I won't complain too much this time around
