Just tried it now - so only 256GB space grey and 64GB silver are available now.

(I want the 64GB space grey).

Guess I'm still waiting for my pre-order unless I manage to score one elsewhere.

Think I'll try calling Fido today - see if they'll let me get one without giving up the sweet plan that I've got.

256 will have much better resale value.

Heh...yeah, but the first time I tried to do it, it told me to come back at 6am.....even though it was 6:25am - figured it was a glitch and they weren't actually opening until 8am (like the MR story stated originally).

Actually, no, they won't. That's typically a wash - maybe you'll recoup some of that if you trade it in a year, but the only way I'd be trading in a year is if they brought the IUP up here.

I'm keeping it for 2 - the value between them after 2 years is marginal.

I'm not really sure about that. I think the 256 will be more in demand as storage needs rise, but there will always be a market that uses an iphone and don't need much storage.

I plan on selling my 64GB in Sept before the next phone. I have no doubt I'll be able to find a buyer easily for good value.

Most of us are using iCloud storage these days - 256 would only be useful if you were recording a LOT of 4k video. I mean...so much 4k video that you don't have time to copy it back to your mac. (or NAS)

Got one at Masonville too! Someone beat me for the 11am spot - but got the 11:30am slot. Driving from 90 minutes away bugs me but it lets me grab some Great Canadian Bagels.

Has the construction on Masonville finished? Been a bit since I’ve been there.

I'm holding off on some screen protector reviews.

The advantage of the Belkin one is their install tool. But with only the top notch to align, it shouldn't be that difficult either. And I've heard of poor performance on those Amazon ones if they are less than $10-15.

The person's name and info on the reservation must match the info of the person picking up. You cannot send someone in your place. Pretty sure they're checking for ID too.

Essentially: Jane Smith cannot pick up for John Smith, even if John is her husband. The reservation would have to made under Jane's name to begin with.

You could call in first. Pretty sure they wouldn't lie about screen protectors.

I was at the store yesterday morning and they said the protector service was active. Though I didn't see anyone do it (most likely because they were all scalpers).

Yeah that makes sense. I'll be patient and wait for Thursday morning.

Also, at 6 am local time, Calgary's stock updated. So that answered my question. They only had 64GB models though.

Yeah, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax have some stock according to iStocknow (but they're also suggesting Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket has some - but Apple.com says otherwise).

Both 256's showing as available for reservation online at the moment.
