I joined MR about a month ago and it seems to me the store was down for maintenance around that time. Would it be down again so soon for routine maintenance?

With Mountain Lion so close to being released, isn't it likely that they'll wait to release any new systems until they are able to ship with OS X 10.8? That being said, I'm hoping for some iMac news. I have about three weeks that I can hold out before I need to order seven iMacs for a new company. I really am hoping to get the newest model.

Down in Hong Kong

Apple Store Hong Kong also down and as already stated by others Maintenance was only undertaken this weekend.

I hope its the new iMac, money waiting to go for a new 27in i7.

Down in NZ.

I'm 99% sure it would be maintenance. Reason being is that if it were the iMac, I'm sure they would wait until they release Mountain Lion so that it ships with it.

Didn't happen last year. Shipped before it came out during the summer.

Maybe so, but still... A week and a half before ML is released would be stupid to release a new iMac, I think.

Would be happy to be proved wrong though.

Your posts has no content, all I read is blah, blah, blah.

HW release and OS release does not coincide. ML is not announced to be launched in 1,5 weeks. Can happen, but not as certain as you state.

:eek::rolleyes:

consider that you won't get the iMac today (even if it comes out today)
and you can always get a free Mountain Lion update OR preinstalled even if announced 3 days later, you will get your machine at the WWDC or after it anyways

Exactly. Unless they are going to offer the ML upgrade for free to those that buy. Seems unlikely, but like you, I'd be happy with an iMac update even if it ships with Lion.

Yeah, right. Let's wait for 2 years, then not tell them we update the damn thing. Or, actually I think you could be right... ;)

I think it would be quite ironic and proving a point. Cook said last night at AllThingsD that they are doubling down on security. The store went down sometime around when the interview finished. Making a point since we haven't seen anything specific about today from the usual suspects?

ML isn't going to be released in a week and a half. Do you even know what wwdc is?

Fingers crossed! When the store went down initially I thought there would be a lot of skepticism about it on the forums. Really hoping we're not going to be disappointed!
To contribute: Australian store completely down. Still have the iMac info page active, but cannot 'Select an iMac' so to speak.

Looks good!

Mountain Lion isn't going to be out for a few more months. Maybe a bit more. Even so, they'd just offer Mountain Lion free to anyone that has purchased a Mac in the last X amount of time. Happened with Snow Leopard, and possibly Lion as well. Software doesn't make Apple much money, they don't care to lose $30 when selling a $2000 computer, trust me.

Calm down guys ... that's pretty sure just maintenance.

Reasons:
* The time of day is just wrong for new products
* It's too close to WWDC
* No slips in shipping times, no last-minute rumours ...

Don't get your hopes up - you will just be disappointed ...
