(I know people, myself included, hate when people say this... but I don't want to flip through 7 pages to see if this has been said yet, so I apologize if it has. Although the last few posts don't indicate that people know.)

I had the same issue, UTD shipped via "Canadian Post/Purolator" with no tracking number. I got impatient and called Apple. And the girl I talked to was extremely helpful and told me that they have been having problems with this (obviously). She said it shipped Purolator originally with a transition point to Canadian Post. No idea why... but that's what they did. And apparently they've had all sorts of issues with packages getting "lost" at the transition point.

So anyways, I called, got shipped a retail version via just Purolator. Should be here in a couple of days.
 
same thing happened here.. supposed to get a retail version of SL today from purolator. yesterday, to my surprise, i finally received my copy of SL UTD (11 days late from what they told me), so now i end up with two :)
 
Just got my UTD copy! now i have 2!!

Just got the update disc in the mail today this time in an envelope with no box.
Now i have an up to date disc and a retail disc.

Same thing happened to me. I now have a Retail and Upgrade DVD. Any difference between the two?
 
Finally, sort of

Received my replacement SL today. Still no sign of the upgrade via Canada Post. Seriously, I don't think Apple sent mine out.
 
Finally received SL today.

But I got 2 copies. The Canada Post one arrived in the mail (finally), after 17 days. My retail copy (replacement) came by purolator today as well.
 
Got my replacement copy from Purolator on Tuesday (arrived Monday, wasn't home).
Got my UTD copy from Canada Post today. (Package was sent from the US)

I work for Canada Post, and any mail from the USA enters Canada at one of their mail processing centres (Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal). Since, this seems to be a Canada-wide problem, my theory the UTD were delayed in the states, or by Canadian customs.
 
I haven't been annoyed yet, but I'm really starting to be. I was supposed to get my replacement disk today but nothing came.

The tracking number that came with it is useless, stating that it left Toronto at 10pm on the 15th and hasn't updated since.

If it's not here by the 18th I'm raising a stink. I was supposed to get my UTD disk on the 3rd.
 
Apple sent out another copy to me (a retail version) because my UTD disc was taking to long. I received my UTD copy yesterday, and got the retail one today, so i have 2 copies now!

Is there any difference between the UTD and retail discs? Is one more preferable than the other?

Also, since I will have 2 copies, will it be legit to install 1 of them on my wife's mac?

There is no difference between the two versions... A website (I don't remember which one) has analyzed the two and there were only a few hundred bytes difference...

I'm in the same situation as you however: is having two discs equal to having two licenses? Or just one, since we only paid for one?

Well I don't care actually... I'll install it anyways. (It's not worse than a hackintosh at least...)
 
No sign of the original


No sign of the original or the replacement here! How is the replacement 2 days late?! The tracking number says it's on the deliver truck but it said that at 10:30am and the truck didn't show up. Ugh, maybe tomorrow.
 
Finally

Finally received my upgrade yesterday. 3 days after I received my replacement. Took Canada Post/Apple just about 3 weeks to deliver my upgrade.
 
Anyone get their original copy (the one shipped on Aug 28th) yet?

I still don't have mind, maybe it legitimately got lost?
