Your response made it seem that you were in the same boat as the OP when in fact you have a watch at home. It is just on your wifes wrist and not yours.

The fact that his wife has a watch does not change the fact that he does NOT have a watch. Jeez, man, you must not have a spouse, or you'd know that married folks don't share watches and phones and the like and don't become magically attached at the wrist.

I have been married for 15 years. next question.

I bet the order experience of a Boing 747 is way more customer friendly and involves more communication.

Having said that, I have never considered buying a passenger plane because I don't like the aluminum. A stainless steel version was not available.

I'll be back when the SDK is improved and there is more supply. Please expand the API and allow for native apps!!

I'm a developer as well, with May 13-27 dates. I'm not all that worried or enthused about the Apple Watch from a developer's perspective, as I can't make the apps I'd like to make given the current SDK. I don't mind getting my watch in a few weeks, because I can't really use it for developing yet.

From a user's perspective, I wish I had it since April 24. It's ridiculous that I ordered within the first minute that the website came up (12:08) and I can't get a watch for 6-8 weeks after getting up at 3:00 in the morning.

This launch really was messed up. The only way it went well was for Australians - who actually got to try on the watch for 8 hours, and then were able to order it online AFTER this at 5pm at night. No waking up in the middle of the night, no buying sight unseen.... it's wrong how Apple did this..... unless you're Australian.

You're the genius. How about reading my whole forum history here. That watch was given to my wife, bozo, as was stated many times if you'd bother to not make a fool of yourself. Well done, well done.

I really hate to burst your bubble. You're making a lot of false assumptions here. My work requires that I live in a different city far from my wife. I most certainly do NOT have a watch at home. My lovely wife is enjoying her watch. I FaceTime with her everyday, and I so look forward to the weekend or two each month when we get back together. But, that hardly matters. You're determined to minimize my comments by somehow convincing yourself that my patience isn't as worthy, since - somehow - I've managed to get another watch to ogle. Sorry to deflate your soufflé. I'm just a patient and caring guy, that's all.

They made a clearly thoroughly thought out decision to release a product to the public before supply could match demand. They decided that it was worth getting this new product out slowly and measured and handle it as a soft launch instead of a hard launch, and I'm sure they realized they were going to piss off some early adopters in the process, but made a business decision that it was worth it. I do think Apple's communication on the launch was lacking and confusing, but don't really blame them for the decision they did make considering it is an initial venture into a new category.

With that said, I totally and completely understand and respect the frustration and anger. Ultimately, money talks and if more people do what you did and not give them your money when you are pissed at a company for wronging you, then they may think twice next time.

My personal belief is Applw knew what they were doing, knew they were going to piss of early adopters, and did it anyway for the sake of long term goals...knowing that early adopters won't go away anytime soon.

I just picked mine up today and am returning it tomorrow. The watch had a tiny mark on the side, besides that it doesn't do much. I'll rather play with my phone.

I'll help you out a little. And notice the bolded part at the bottom, he's still waiting for his watch.

Extremely pleased after 2 days. Has exceeded my expectations for a v1.0 new Apple product. Here's some specific comments and observations.

Highs:

1) Beautifully made. Both my wife and I normally wear watches; love the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Lovely hardware from a watch-enthusiast standpoint (38mm SS w/classic buckle).

2) Surprised how often just glancing at the watch is all we need. Was shopping at Costco today. Great amount of info exchange via the watch; we setup our own custom replies for the message app.

3) Applepay. Another game changer for my wife. Doesn't have to get cards out of her purse. Double-click the friend button, wave your watch over the terminal. Couldn't be easier. My wife loves the fact she can keep her wallet in her purse, feels much safer this way, not to mention the lack of digital skimming and ID theft.

4) Phone calls around the house. My wife is always in the garden or around the house; she doesn't carry her phone with her. Can leave her phone in her purse, and gets messages and calls on the watch. 2/3 of the time I call her, she didn't answer before (didn't have her phone; didn't hear it). Hasn't missed a call or text yet with the watch. Brilliant, and is apparently using our home wifi for all this, with great range between watch and phone.

5) Weather on the watch face. Great custom options on the watch face. Lovely getting outside temperature at a glance when you check time, and a mini-forecast. Speaking of which, the watch faces are beautiful.

6) Siri. "Hey Siri". Works great, activates automatically when you raise your wrist. Very fast, and seems more accurate than with the iphone.

7) Charger. Genius design. It's not a flat surface, it has a slight curve. The watch fits this perfect with the magnet, and can only rotate, not slide around. The wire can rotate to any position, so easy to attach and unattach. Much, much simpler than the lighting connector.

8) Battery life. Full use today, on at 6am. Now 8pm, and watch shows 45% remaining. Very impressive.

9) Gestures/interface. The digital crown works extremely well. How nice to have a classic watch feature (crown) that integrates so well with the watch OS. So easy to just roll the top of the crown with your finger. The buttons feel great, too. The force-press and touchscreen feel of great quality, too.

Areas for improvement:

1) Screen timeout. This seems to be 4 seconds, and isn't adjustable. Clearly, Apple needs to make this an adjustable option, and let users decide between screen time and battery life. 4sec is just a bit too short. 6 or 8s would be better.

2) Haptic feedback. It's just ok. Even the "prominent feedback" setting is just powerful enough. This could be increased.

3) Lag in some apps initial loading. There can be a bit of lag for some apps on initial load (like Maps). Nothing excessive, but the watch really is a "glance at" device, and it holds your attention for longer than a glance in these cases. May take hardware v2 to speed this up, or perhaps some refined apps/programming. Not a killer, but something to be improved upon.

4) Adding cards to Apple Pay with the 5s. Non-intuitive. Took quite a bit of trying to get our cards into the watch. One-time issue, but you'll see complaints from folks having problems here as Passbook on the 5s doesn't natively support adding cards.

5) Unlock code keypad. The unlock code screen has some pretty small buttons on the 38mm watch. I have big fingers, and I'm not always accurate in entering the code. We ended up changing codes to something more compatible with my big fingers. Ideally, we'd have a version of Touch ID on the watch screen for this, that would be awesome. Another future upgrade, no doubt.

There you go! Hope this was a fair and balanced review. Very, very happy with this watch, and can't wait for our 2nd one to arrive, 42mm SS Black.

Jeez if you want the watch that badly spend an extra $100-$200 and get one on craigslist, or ebay.

I'll help you out a little. And notice the bolded part at the bottom, he's still waiting for his watch.

He comes huffing and puffing into a post a rips a guy apart for whining and complaining about not having his apple watch and sells his whole criticism on the fact that he does not own a watch himself. When in reality he has written a long review of his first hand experience with a watch. Read his whole review, he obviously has used the watch himself.

Or order a 38mm classic buckle. Those are shipping within a couple of days of order.

I really do think you're beating a dead horse.....and not winning.

lol, the OPs post was bad, but your terrible posts are hilarious. He doesn't have the watch. His wife does. His situation is not unique. My girlfriend has her watch, I do not. I've played around with hers for a bit but not very much. It does not at all diminish my longing for the Watch. Do you understand?

As an Apple fan and complete gadget nerd, I 100% agree with your sentiments about the LAUNCH. For a product that was announced in September (which felt more like an Oh s***, we're going to get left behind in this somewhat lucrative market, so lets make sure all of the world knows that we're working on a solution to get into the market...), and then announced again in the Spring, with 1 month between the announcement and the PRE-orders, Apple had no reason to not be able to produce this thing efficiently for a pre-order launch delivery.

It seems as though the September launch was just a message to people saying that "we're working on a watch, please don't buy a Microsoft Band." Engineering then most likely continued through to the spring. After launch they released the final engineering spec and sent it to manufacturing, at which point everything fell apart and they couldn't meet their commitment to customers. The problem with this launch was that everything was about Apple Watch was rushed, poorly thought out, and poorly planned. Every manufacturing job has some time buffer built in to keep the customers happy, and it certainly seems like Apple didn't do it for this product. Hopefully, they learned their lesson for next time.

As to your other points about having to wait it out and drive yourself crazy, that one's on you. You could've just kept your order live and waited it to arrive (which it eventually would), and then proceed to start developing on the platform. I understand your frustration, but waiting is a game that we all must play for our favorite toys on occasion (whether or not the waiting is justified or not).

Just my 2cents

To be fair, i think he's more suggesting it seems like he lives with his wife in parts of that review:

But i'm not saying diablo2112 is or isn't, its irrelevant to be honest. Who cares if he does or doesn't... not me.

but heres some humour to enlighten the mood: :D:D:D

Mission accomplished--I don't think anyone bought a Microsoft Band.

Imagine you waited in line for 3 hours at the movie theater with about 100 people ahead of you for what was advertised as a 3,000 seat theater before you even GOT in line.

Imagine that Apple NEVER said how many watches were available.
Imagine that Apple explicitly stated that supply was really tight.
Imagine that you have NO idea how many people were ahead of you when you finally ordered.
Imagine that your analogy is completely wrong.

Since he was delayed by Apple's website, perhaps a better analogy is that everyone got in line as the movie tickets went on sale, but he unfortunately picked the slow cashier.

I totally agree that this launch was a mess for sure. I am a big fan of Apple, but It is what it is. My wife got her 38mm SS WSB yesterday. I am still waiting on my 42mm SS BSB expected June dilvery date. Ordered on 4/10. Apple could have been more transparent with there customers for sure, when the first found out they wasn't going to be able to fill all the preorders on 4/24.

That's been my biggest frustration with this launch. And whether you feel like this launch was just fine or a total disaster, there is one issue that I feel Apple desperately needs to address.

I ordered online because I was given an Apple Gift Card for this purchase and the Apple Store iOS app, which I would normally use, doesn't let you use an Apple Gift Card.

Wha, what? How does that make any sense?

Apple is trying to establish itself as a payment processor with Apple Pay, has for years been able process gift cards for iTunes, but doesn't let you use their Gift Cards in their own iOS app ... even with those Gift Cards registered in Passbook?

I'm sorry but that's just really fail. And I'm no hater - I'm a loyal customer of 20+ years, an early adopter of all their 1st Gen products and a shareholder since 2004.

I'd like to add that my inability to actually cancel my April 10th order (although have come close) has paid off now that I've received the watch.

I hope you really didn't cancel it, May 13th and on isn't too far away and if you are not in this batch you will prob be in the June batch which is around when stores get them. I wouldn't wanna lose my guaranteed spot for someone who's able to wait in line late May/June and acquire one that day.
