Since the last 2-3 days everything was, as it should be. No more stuck unread threads.
So I chime in here and am wary positive, this issue seems to be resolved. 👍

Seems mostly fixed for me except for the threads in this forum that I have been reading...including this one. Every time I open one of those threads it starts me off at page 1. All the other problem threads I had seem to be working.

Same here, it's not completely fixed for me either. I lost count, but I had about 15 stuck threads. I marked them all as read, and 5 remain stuck.

Yeah... spotty again for me. This ^ thread has been randomly coming back up as unread all day.

Same here.

Three threads, all marked "read" on Tuesday, all with last post Monday or earlier became "unread" again now in the last couple of hours.

Edit: Now, 20-ish minutes later they've gone back to being "read" without any action on my part. :)

Edit 2: And another 40 minutes or so, and at least 5 older threads are again become "unread". It's all over the place today. :)

well, given all the ideas for the cause of this (eg db corruption) - it would have been a miracle if it fixed itself.
This thread in itself appeared "fixed" but as I just opened it it returned to a post that I had read a week or so ago.

So, I do not believe in miracles in technology - will there be any update on this @arn ???

Happens all the time to me as well. The only thing that seems to fix it temporarly is to click "Mark forums read" in the top bar. That will mark EVERYTHING as read, and then it works as expected for a while until it doesn't again.

Yup, continued issues with multiple threads across the site.
And since we are not getting any updates whatsoever from owner/admin I suppose this will just linger on.
You guys should really take a course to learn about customer service...

What exactly is your point in casting shade on the site owners? Perhaps you missed this, but they're actually using a commercial product called XenForo for the forum, as discussed earlier in the thread... so the owners are not necessarily software engineers, and are likely unable to do anything at all about the problem; they're waiting on the folks over at XenForo Ltd. to release an update that fixes the problem, and are probably just as frustrated as you, if not more so.

the issue exists for over 1 year, site owners/admins have been ping'd multiple times by multiple people. There have been theories tossed around on what the issue is.
All that I and others have asked for is an acknowledgement of the issue and some explanation of what the root cause might be. Something, but no, no response whatsoever ... hence my comment.
