Cannot run Boot Camp Assistant

Greetings,

I've had this issue for a while and gotten no help from Apple. No response by email and a real run around trying to use their discussion group - having to re-login multiple times and told the page I want cannot be found.

Anyways getting to the point I get the following message when trying to run Boot Camp Assistant:

Boot Camp Assistant cannot be used.

This Mac does not support Boot Camp.

Which is ridiculous because I used to run Windows via Boot Camp until it stopped working, so now I would like to reinstall it.

This is my current configuration:

Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Memory: 16 GB
Boot ROM Version: MP51.007F.B03
SMC Version (system): 1.39f5

System Version: macOS 10.12.1 (16B2555)

If you are putting Windows onto its own drive, you don't need to use boot camp assistant at all. Just insert the Windows install media and install to the correct drive. I strongly suggest removing the non-Windows drives first.

After installation, download and install the boot camp drivers.

Ill second that this is what I did on my 06 mac pro worked just fine

Bootcamp 6 is NOT for cMP, cMP should use Bootcamp 5
