Don’t tell me to relax. I love bashing Apple! That’s not what’s going on here. What’s going on here is the usual new iPhone freakout cycle. Everyone upgrades and expects their new phone to be perfect in every way — until it chips a little, or the battery isn’t what they wanted, or (remember this one?) it drops calls if you hold it wrong. And just because it never happened to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Again, a 5 second google image search will prove that it in fact exists.
I’m not bashing the phone or apple, relax.
I agree with you on that. Every new iPhone is met with the usual half dozen tryingtofindthenewgate posts. A lot of stuff is over exaggerated. A lot of it is just people trying to start crap to mess with people as far as getting them to think something’s actually wrong with their stuff. Regardless of that though, issues do exist. The MagSafe ring thing? It’s really not that big of a deal to be honest. But it does exist. Idk about you, but I have yet to own anything in my life that hasn’t had a least 1 issue of some sort.Don’t tell me to relax. I love bashing Apple! That’s not what’s going on here. It’s just exhausting.
Time for you to go touch some grass. Seriously.Don’t tell me to relax. I love bashing Apple! That’s not what’s going on here. What’s going on here is the usual new iPhone freakout cycle. lol yeah because the phones are made up of a cheaper, softer metal. I wouldn’t call that rhetoric lol. it’s factual. any one justifying it for “thermal” and “performance” reasons is a victim of excellent marketing. I’ve owned just about every iPhone since 07 and my 15 pro max feels 10x more premium than the 17 pro max.Once aluminum came into focus, people on here started with the 'looks cheap, feels cheap' kinda of rhetoric.
Maybe it’s exhausting because you’re on a public forum reading every single post lol.Don’t tell me to relax. I love bashing Apple! That’s not what’s going on here. I need to touch grass for telling people not to freak out when their phone made from aluminum and glass turns out to not be invincible? Feels a little backwards.Time for you to go touch some grass. Seriously.
How do you define premium?lol yeah because the phones are made up of a cheaper, softer metal. My air feels better than both
That’s where it’s going. Apple plans to release a larger XL Air in 2017. This a X>XS moment.Thank god Apple finally offloaded the "premium material" and "elite feeling" from Pro and Pro Max, and moved to Air. Now just let Pro and Pro Max to be professional photography or filmmaking tools.
High end materials and strong performanceHow do you define premium?
If the 17 is performing as it should, that means you knowing the phone has aluminum triggered you into believing something is inherently wrong with the phone when there isn't a problem.High end materials and strong performance
I guess we can agree to disagree. Hopefully those who don't like it will enjoy next year's phone. There is nothing premium about the continental shelf on the back.
these are not from the heat of MagSafe, they're from sand/dust/particles being pressed into the phone by the magnets and slid around as it rotates. same reason I never put my iPhone face down on things (well, I do, and my iPhone is scratched for it, but...)rings from the heat of MagSafe
I’m on the annual upgrade program. I actually think my 16 Pro felt heavier than the 17 Pro.It’s shockingly heavy! Picked up my wife’s yesterday. She doesn’t mind. I’m so happy with my pretty white light base 17. We both had 15PM.

One drop and the aluminum gives so much. Not to mention it’s not just scratches and blemishes, it’s full on warping and compromise of the frame itself as it’s aluminum. Watch Everything Apple Pro video. Drops from four feet cause major damage to the pro but none to the Air. Bad mistake to not reinforce the frame somewhat. Or, at least tell every Pro Pro Max buyer they absolutely need a case to ensure it’s not destroyed with one small incident.
Apple hasn't marketed the phone as invincible. iPhone Pro models will suffer damage just like any other iPhone model, or other manufacturers.
The rings from the heat of MagSafe is not new. I remember seeing lots of pics from members here who experienced it first hand. I am not sure why people here think that a very hot magnetic charging device won't suffer discoloration. After seeing story after story about it, I made a point to stick to wired charging.
In my opinion, Apple should warn people that MadSafe charging can cause permanent marks on the phone.
I thought this video defined it pretty well, especially towards the end.Define what the term “Pro” means in regards to the iPhone.
Dumbest term they ever assigned to a phone.
