Can't decide between leather and silicone

Any suggestions? I like the feel of both of them, just can't decide. I've never used an Apple case before, so have no experience with how they are over time. I've read a bunch of the posts here, so have seen some issues with leather darkening and looking drastically different over time, silicone being a dust magnet, etc.

Is one more protective than the other? Look better over time than the other?

Protection wise, its going to be basically the same. The leather will rip/scratch much easier than the silicone if dropped. I've had the black leather case on my iPhone 6 for the last year and just bought the saddle brown leather case for my 6s. The feel and look of the leather case is much nicer than the silicone in my opinion.

Go with the leather one because the silicone ones tend to peel after a while. At least that was the case with the earlier ones.

For bright colors - silicone, unless you plan on keeping your phone in a purse or something, where it won't get dirty.

You can google 'used apple leather cases' you'll see how it looks after some time. It ain't pretty.

The leather one will be a mess in a couple of weeks. The red one I had for my 5 went ugly. If I was to get another leather case it would have to be black or dark blue.

Ok, decision made - googled and didn't like what I saw! Especially the darkened edges and corners. Looks like the leather one is going back to BestBuy, hopefully they'll take it back even though the box was opened.

With the brown, it looks nice but I don't like the way it will look on the red case. Ugh I still really go back and forth, though.

that actually looks really nice! now in another color... I'd hate it! but the brown leather... GORGEOUS!

silicone. i had leather until my wife got silicone and the silicone was just way nicer IMO. Also I never had any issues with peeling or dust collection. Silicone was a snugger fit too, and the sides of the inside were lined with microfiber, unlike the leather, which wasnt.

I really want the saddle leather case but am concerned it'll clash too much with the black bezel. Do you have a space grey phone? If so, what do you think of the brown/black combo?

Cool, thanks for doing that. Yeah, it does look a lot better than I thought it might; I can't believe how nice the leather looks and of course it ages really well to my eye so I think I'm going to go ahead and get it.

no problem. I showed my co-worker her phone with my case and she also liked it but said it's too expensive for her liking. she likes those cheap TPU cases. to each their own. I think SG looks really nice.

yes, mine has. mine wasn't AS slippery when it was brand new but has gotten a good grip to it after a week.

I just want mine to look like yours already. So I started using it on my 6+ until tomorrow when my s comes.

You can't compare the red leather to the other leathers because during the production of them whatever they do to the red leather they take the bit of leather feel the other colour leathers had a **** it in the bin. The red leather feels like a really bad fake or as they like to call it now vegan leather or as my wife described it as cardboard. The other leather that feels the same as the red is the soft pink one and enforce you ask yes I have had/have all the different colours but not the new ones.
