You are concerned with being “connected” on a roller coaster? Wow. Pulling G’s and you’re all “I am missing something!”
Solution: Don’t go to theme parks just stay home.

Did you receive a heart rate warning on your Apple Watch after making this odd little post?

Uh, no. That's not what I'm concerned with. You really think anyone is looking at the net on a coaster? After the roller coaster, when I split up from my wife and little kids and go off with the big kids, I can still text her and find out when to meet.
Solution: Don't be so judgmental.

Don’t know how the world even existed prior. Amazed we made it decades at theme parks without smartphones :)

Unfortunately I only get a signal from ATT at my home. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Also if i decided to cancel after 3 months I won't get back the extra $100 premium I paid to get the LTE model.
You can if you sell the watch.

Yep, been there / done that.

It was big limitation when different people in the group had different things they wanted to do. Set a time and place to meet back up and someone was always wasting time sitting around waiting for someone else.

If only there had been an easy way to get in touch with the other folks you were with, so you could rejoin them on an adhoc basis and not have to wait around for that one person always late...

Then for what we plan on using it for, I think we'll be fine. I also just found out that with our carrier here in Germany (Telekom), we get the first 6 months of Apple Watch usage free and then it's 4,95€/month after that. For once, things seem cheaper here (but we still don't have Apple Pay so I think it's fair). :)

In my travel experience cell service almost *anywhere* is cheaper than the US, carrier monopolies here keep prices jacked sky high :/

I'm an avid runner so when LTE first became available on the S3 I considered it because I thought it would be nice to run without my phone. Then I considered that I'd be missing some of the things that only exist on my phone: Audible, SiriusXM, and the camera. I decided I'd rather have the full complement of my media and while it would be nice to carry less on my 2+ hour runs, ultimately I decided I couldn't see a situation where I'd be out with just my watch.

It seems that everybody I talked to can't get passed the $10 line, and actually it's closer to $15 with taxes etc. Anyway, it seems to me if the carriers reduced it to $5 they would get many more customers to sign up that would more than make up for the profit margins at $10. It doesn't cost the carriers extra as the data used by the watch is counted against the phone data plan. And I don't think we use more data by having an AW with LTE service. But I must be wrong as I'm sure the carriers researched and studied what to price the AW LTE plan for max profit.

With my lifestyle and usage, I feel I'm right at the border on whether it's worth it to me. I'm going to keep the service for another year and see how it goes. On those occasions where you can't bring your phone or it's cumbersome to do so having the service is great. I smiled inside at the coolness of it. And a few times over the year I was about to leave and realized I didn't have my phone, and it was nice not to have to run back and just walk out the door knowing you have the service.

Honestly, I bet if enough people write T-Mobile, or tweet their CEO, they might just reduce the plan by $5.

I've had cellular on Series 3 and barely used it...although I have been living a sedentary life the past year for work reasons, it might be useful if you like to be out of the house without your phone (which I also tried...each time I tried this, I missed having my phone with me). Also consider the cost of getting out of your contract if you decide to turn off cellular at some point...it all adds up and what for? Sometimes I feel like the Apple Watch is like a shackle on me... a symbol of the debt I went into just to afford something that is disposable the next year...and then when my boss blows up my watch with texts, it drives me nuts and I can't concentrate at work, so I tear the watch off my wrist and take deep breaths...

I also have a Series 4 on the way. lol... I went with GPS non cellular this time.

By using lost and found department. Not sure what your agenda is but nobody is forcing you to buy anything, nor anyone here, it's about convenience, other than those addicted to tech.

I just got locked out of the house a few days ago. I took my dogs out back, and when the Italian greyhounds (the little ones) were done I let them in and when back out to get my greyhound. As I was reaching for the doorknob, I heard one of the little ones jump up and hit it. The little butthead locked me out.

I was in pajamas, outside where it was already on the way to 90 degrees, with a 10 year old greyhound. I have a 6 foot vinyl privacy fence that was locked, and I am not Spider-Man. My phone was inside.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to pick the lock with an old screwdriver, as well as attempting to break the glass in the door, I finally remembered I could make calls on my watch. Called my brother, and 15 minutes later we were back inside. My greyhound drank a gallon of water, shot me a dirty look, and slept the rest of the day.
