I like using my iPhone on the bed laying down right before I sleep, it feels much heavier even though we are talking only grams here. The iPhone SE or 6 weight is the best I think.

right lmao the difference in weight isnt even that bad. people really will complain about anything. if it was lighter people would say its too light, now its too heavy. apple just cant win.
We are talking about the weight difference of an AA battery here. I used a 5s up until November 3. The X is fine, even one handed while laying in bed (the other arm and hand usually has a cat laying on it).
Plus you compared an 8 to an X, which is what OP is comparing. No need to bring the SE or 6 into it!

One of the things I really love about the X is the way Apple implemented the gestures that replace the previous functions of the home button. I absolutely love the way that the app switcher works now. Way quicker and more fluid than before. I love the right flick across the bottom of the screen to bring up the last app. Really slick.
Man honestly there software is trash. Im so sick of it lagging and when on Facebook. You click on a pic and it just stutters.

I think I made my decision. I remember when I had the 7 the reason i wanted to trade if for a s8 was cause the bezels were to large. So Im gonna go with the X. Think I would be alot more happy with that. And it's only $10 more a month. Not bad.Since you already had an iphone in my opinion, it is up to you to decide what you want "now".
I come from Android (hTC, Samsung, LG, Huawei) the 8 Plus is my first iPhone and I did not want to start with a 1st generation to fix along the way - It’s not only me thinking that way, just read the list of threads here on the forum or take a tour on youtube or on the web as well. It’s just human thinking that way.
Many people are finding it great, it's the phone they've been waiting for ever and "generally" this is the approach of who has already been an Apple user for some time and is therefore accustomed to both design and touch id -> i want change -> i choose the beseless screen and the brand new (for Apple at least) Face id technology.
Consider, however, that inside are practically the same: X has a bigger battery (speaking about hardware, then you need to see if it lasts more or less than 8+).
It also has the portrait mode in the front camera (True depth camera).
In my opinion, I repeat “my personal opinion”, I think it is a great product, but it is a transition product between the glorious past / present that has been tested and optimized and what Apple will decide to do with the models from 2018 onwards.
Even the screen, reading the specs, is bigger but the really visible and used X-optimized portion makes it smaller than the 8 plus.
What do you think about the notch?

Do you also know that being an oled has among its features particular angles of vision and coloring on yellow or blue?
Having said this is your ratings, maybe you go and try both of them in person.
Consider the dimensions, the ability to put them in your pocket and how do they fit your hands!
Many have taken a model, kept a few days, changed idea again and again and eventually chose the phone for them.
I’ll wait a year at least to “encounter the future”, with optimized Face ID technology and a bezeless display (or smaller bezels), but only if the display will get bigger: now, the X is narrower, the 8+ is wider and this means all to me (watching a video on Youtube, browsing safari or reading a text, is really a different experience).
I'm fine and I really enjoy my 8+ and I'm very happy for those who are fine with their X, and I hope you’ll be happy with what you will choose.

Yeah the only thing is that notch but I'll probably get use to that. And if not I seen where you can make the display cut off below the notch a little bit. Almost like the s8 screen.

*If* we're only discussing an 8 (not the Plus) vs. an X, first price, 64GB models are $300 difference, that's not trivial.
For that $300 you get:
2436x1125 res @ 458 ppi in the X vs. 1334x750 res@ 326 ppi on the 8
That's notable. That doesn't even factor in OLED vs. LCD. Way more information on screen, with more pixel density.
That additional screen is in a physical package that's only 0.20" taller and 0.13" wider (0.01" thicker).
The front facing camera(s) are substantially better: an 8 has a f/1.8 aperture single lens, the X has dual lens, a wide-angle: f/1.8 and a telephoto: f/2.4, both with OIS. Of note, the rear camera on the X supports portrait mode/lighting.
Also the battery is a good bit better, to the point where you might be looking at a full day use vs. losing your device at some point. Battery is a little tricky as their are lots of factors in the usage pattern and the display tech is now much different in how battery is consumed.
Of course, the major changes in the device design full front display with gestures vs. a dedicated home button, FaceID vs. TouchID, that are clear _differences_ but you could argue it's a wash (as opposed to hardware with clearly better specifications).
For that $300 you get:

Paying another $700 in 2017 for an iPhone with HD? Technically, 750p. But same ppi as an iPhone 4 from 2010.

Less RAM

No stainless edges to look truly premium

I honestly haven't even noticed the notch for a while. It seems that most people get used to it pretty quick.
