I prefer the 120Hz, as I can notice it in the scrolling, but when I switch device, I just get used to the lower refresh rate after a while.

I live in hybrid shorts 90% of the time and just am over big and heavy. I no longer use iPhone camera since the heavy use of computational exposures. Why?
This exactly! It’s not at all the same, when you choose the Limit Frame Rate option on a 120Hz iPad or iPhone, what you get is a much worse experience than on a 60Hz iPad or iPhone, very jarring experience.
Used the 14 PM at 120 for a week. Didn’t really care one way or another so I checked to cap at 60 for battery savings. I like that it’s a variable refresh rate to go down to 10 on static screens. But as far as 120 goes, it was irrelevant for my experience.
Variable refresh as I noted. And since it does save battery to limit to 60, it’s far more relevant than the screen refreshing at 120.The battery savings are going to be more irrelevant than the difference between 60hz and 120hz. I agree it’s not a must have feature but why not just buy a 14 Plus at that point unless you really value the telephoto lens?

If I get 10 minutes more screen on time, it’s worth it. If I get 5 more, it’s worth it. That’s useful, the alternative is useless to me. That’s actually the pointBut that’s the point - variable refresh allows you to have 120hz with minimal hit on the battery. I doubt you’re squeezing much more battery life out and if you’re able to kill a 14PM in a day I’m impressed.

It makes complete sense.Makes no sense but you do you
It makes complete sense.
I intend to
60hz on a 120hz display looks worse than 60hz on a 60hz display
At least when it comes to a device that’s meant to be used in 120hz
My iPad Pro looks awful in 60hz . My iPhone 11 looks crazy smooth @60
Conversely, barely perceptible scrolling differential at a hit to battery is completely worthless. It would make sense if you were killing the 14 PM with 120hz on and 5-10 minutes actually made a difference for you but I doubt that. These phones already last nearly 2 days for most people so paying more for features you’re just going to turn off is silly.

Sorry I continue to ruffle your feathers. I thought the ‘you do you’ was your send off. Yet here you are, defending a feature that’s useless to me.
Of course it makes sense. You don’t seem to understand the concept of improving the experience.Because you‘re telling me it makes sense to turn off a feature that improves the phone experience when you’re not even killing the battery in a day anyway. The phone has to be charged eventually. What difference does it make if you’re charging it ten minutes later the next day when it lasts all day anyway? Makes zero sense and never will.

It makes plenty of sense to choose a useful experience over a useless one. And battery will always be more useful than silly scrolling.
Keep you doing you though, you’re terrific at it
+1It would make sense if your phone wasn’t lasting the entire day with 120hz on but that’s not the case and we’ve already established that, therefore you’re foregoing an improved experience for no reason. Thus, it makes no sense.
