It wasn't working for me either. Good thing I'm not the only one!

Do I have to set up a provisioning profile? Or does simply adding the UDID take care of registered my device?

Thanks

the provisioning files are not needed. You just need to add your device's UDID exactly to the portal site.

You can simply just go into itunes and click the device serial line and keep clicking until you see UDID and then right click to "copy UDID". No mistakes this way.

I am EXACTLY the same. Mine was jb'ed as well. No difference, it didn't go thru activation!

Perhaps you have better luck than most of us :(

Maybe. I am just now finishing installing everything from backup. And now will play with the phone. I really am not digging this new theme they installed. I do sort of like the features implemented. But i am not sure this new theme will grow on me or not.

This is the 4th time I've restored. NO GO STILL as of 9.15pm EST

my install gets to 75% then spits a itunes 3014 error & the phone is stuck in limbo.. don't seem to be able to do a restore back to 6.1.4 either... HELP

Yes im a registered dev. iphone5 a1429

Got it to work

I had bricked it by updating to ios7 by "restore" instead i reinstalled 6.1.4 and set as new phone then hit option+Update and ios7 activated just fine

I am getting the same error. As with iOS 6, the fix might using update instead of restore. The procedure is to plug your phone in, in itunes click restore, and it will resotre you back to iOS 6. Then once you have restored, you can option-click on update and then choose the iOS 7 ipsw.

I have no idea if this will work or not, but I am in the process of trying it out as it worked last year.

Worked like a charm.

When I plug the phone in, I get the same error message on iTunes regarding the device not being activated via the dev portal, so I can't even get to restore/update.

Do I need to put it in DFU first?

This worked for me as well. I was having the same issues in terms of choosing Restore and activation not going through. I forced my phone into DFU mode, restored to 6.1.4 and then selected "option" with Update and chose the 7.0 IPSW and the phone booted directly into the new iOS after installing.

no luck for me either, just got dev account today. Giving me the same answer, i tried a restore to 6.1.4 then back to 7 and same error...

When you put 7 on again did you do it as a restore or an update?

I'm in the process of going back to 6.1.4 so I can try updating to 7 rather than restoring.

Cheers dude give this a go. So you had to retry this 3 different times?

Not in a row, around 30 minutes apart. I guess Apple's servers are starting to work properly again.

EDIT: Now tried a full restore via DFU again, no go. I guess it's like last year early where Option+Update only works.

Just tried update and it says "This version of the iPhone software (6.1.4) is the current version."

Now doing option+restore and choosing the ipsw file...see how it goes!

Since the update works, is having your UDID registered on a developer account even necessary?
