Completely agree. I assume Apple helped to finance or entered some kind of agreement with Capcom to bring this over to the Mac? If Apple have a horse in this race they obviously want their cut (via App Store). Then again, Psychonauts 2 is available on both the App Store and Steam. Maybe it's something to do with being M1 only? Does Steam even distribute games compiled for ARM? I have no idea. The Steam app for MacOS is ARM native, though. Is the Mac version gonna be available on Steam or only the Mac App Store? If it's only the Mac App Store then it's dead on arrival lmao.
Apple already has a form of RT via Metal, but does not the power to compete with PC codes. Metal 3 is supposed to amplify it higher.Raytracing...on an ARM chip...that's a new one I haven't heard before.
Yes Steam does Arm games for max. TW:Warhammer 3 was M1 only when it release for Mac. Feral has since worked out some issues and it works in Intel and Arm and just got updated to the 2.0 version.Completely agree. As a gaming enthusiast, I won't be buying this because it's on the App Store. It's like buying a game from Stadia to me, personally. However, I have lots of gaming hardware to play this on. If your only machine is a Mac and you want to play this, hopefully the port is good!
32-Core GPU and unified memory. This game is going to blow PC's out of the water
64-Core GPU+128GB of full unified RAM.
With a fully optimized game, this will be over 100+FPS over RTX 3090 TI
None of those game are Apple Silicon optimized

yes at WWDC it was demoed, I think they said "coming later this fall" but no specific release date was given.Wasn't this already announced?

There is no difference between Mac App Store or Steam. The Mac App store is installed on all Macs by default. Plus, Steam does not support Apple Silicon so even if Capcom wanted it on Steam, it would not work.
Also, the vast majority of Mac owners don't care where the game comes from. Only that we have a AAA title that support Apple Silicon.
This game is going to sell like crazy when videos start being uploaded to YouTube showing insane performance and FPS from the M1 MB Air to the M1 Ultra Mac Studio.
If the rumors of the M2 Pro/Max launching next week are true. Then it would include RT cores pushing this game even higher.
Honestly what I think has happened is that due to the M1, even the MacBook Air can run a game like this decently. Every Mac user is a potential customer now.Completely agree. I assume Apple helped to finance or entered some kind of agreement with Capcom to bring this over to the Mac?...

Love to see what a AS native game using metal 3 is capable of. So much isn't.Capcom today announced that the Mac version of survival horror game Resident Evil Village is set to launch on Friday, October 28. The game will be available on Macs that are equipped with Apple silicon chips.
Totally. But why wouldn't they release this on Steam too? Do we have any confirmation that this won't ship through Steam too?Honestly what I think has happened is that due to the M1, even the MacBook Air can run a game like this decently. Every Mac user is a potential customer now.
Love the Ghostbusters reference. Now if only we could have GB and RE crossover game!A game? On a Mac? Dogs and Cats living together, mass hysteria.
Not sure. I was looking on Steam, and they don't say anything about it, although they are releasing stuff on Oct. 28 on Steam, too.Totally. But why wouldn't they release this on Steam too? Do we have any confirmation that this won't ship through Steam too?
really not trying to make excuses but for most games, isn't 60fps "good enough"? plus core-i9 is with a dedicated GPU is it not? so is it really comparable? honest question.
Yeah I can't find anything about it on Capcom's website either. I know that there is the Gold edition (base+dlc) releasing on the 28th on PC, Xbox, PS. Not sure if the Mac version is the 'Gold' version too.Not sure. I was looking on Steam, and they don't say anything about it, although they are releasing stuff on Oct. 28 on Steam, too.

When this guy says the Mac version of RE Village and the M Series chips are gonna roll over gaming PCs with RTX 30 series cards, I gotta lay down the law.
And 60 can be good enough, but if you go higher it performs even better, as the higher the framerate, the lower the input latency is giving you better response time with your inputs. It's why the next generation consoles have 120 FPS modes for multiplayer games like Call of Duty and Halo Infinite so they can compete with eSports and streamer spec gaming PCs.
The law that was laid down was flawed, however. Oranges to Apples, since those haven't been optimized. Personally, my Apple silicon computer runs Eve Online better than my PC, and I got the GPU last year.
