It's called personal choice. It's the same reason some of us spent twice this much on a case for our ipads.

I think it adds a very cool industrial design element to the iPhone. I also like the design of the IP4 better then all others but feel it's not going to protect from much in the event of a fall.
I buy case/film/bumper just to protect my iphone. If I spend 100 dollars on the case, I am not sure which one should be protected. I would like to have something that I can easily get ride of if there is a damage. Besides,if I can afford 100 dollars case, I would just let my iphone to be naked. I think iphone design is much better than that case. just my two cents.

I just want someone to buy one to see if you can rub the 'VAPOR' on the side off with rubbing alchohol/paint thinner or something. If that was the case I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Also won't the aluminium mess with the signal even more?

Someone called the company and asked if they could exclude the logo from theirs and they were happy to oblige, just so you know :)

Really? Wow that's actually pretty awesome. I like when companies aren't a brick wall on things like that.
I just hope someone gives a decent review of it when it comes out because I still feel that making it out of aluminium may just kill your signal completely.

It looks like carbonbumper.com has a SIM tray cutout option now.

Do you guys think a real apple OEM bumper would fit over this thing?

Looks pretty dope.

I have got the carbonbumper.com decals on my phone and it looks pretty good. Fits perfectly. Apple bumper still fits and looks good with the carbon pattern back.

Just to add to this, iCarbon's also makes a set like this (except front + back + bumper) for a total carbon fiber look http://www.icarbons.com/-/iCarbons.html

I just ordered it (planned on doing the sides and back, but not the front, decided to order the entire kit in case I ever want to throw on the front). I'll let you know the quality and post up some pics when I get it (should be any day now), plan on going with a bumper (apple, or other) with carbon fiber backing

Edit: Just after typing that, it showed up in the mail, will post link to a thread later today

actually I prefer the one from CarbonWare...i have the 3GS one, never saw the iPhone 4 but happy with my 3GS. Had the 3M vinyl stuff before but it didn't last very long. These cases are mainly for looks, IMO
