Wondering if existing “5g” networks will struggle with the load of so many new devices coming online in a short period of time...

Isn't that Hitchhikers?
No the real one is asking the computer to locate the golden tickets and it answers it would be cheating and the operator says I'm now telling the computer what it can do with a lifetime supply of chocolate. Now I need to watch HGttG again to see what they do on there.

Seems like the super cycle is going to be a non-event after all. There is absolutely nothing in the 5G that would noticeably improve the smartphone use experience.

Mobile carriers should focus on fixed 5G as an alternative to the incumbent ISPs without having to lay the cable to the houses. If they could offer fixed Internet access with 500/100 Mbps and low latency, that would actually be useful for the consumers and it would make mobile carriers solid revenue and profit off their investment in 5G. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Mark my words, Apple will announce all iPhones in the next event with shipping set the following month or two.

Marked. By contradicting most of what's already been said by reputable leakers, this could be your big chance to shock the world and go from completely unknown forum poster to one of the greats! ;)

Can’t someone develop an algorithm to more accurately predict when the iPhone launch will be? Like giving individual factors like previous models going on sale, other rumors, various credits, and then looking at the date options and giving each a percentage likelihood that it’ll happen that date.

Any idea what the mathematical "factor" for the impacts of a global pandemic would be?

There is a chance AAPL will be Forced to Delay the iPhone 12 announcement !

Early Tests indicate that 5G is slower than 4G !

Read a very comprehensive & very technical report on this yesterday on another website.

I don't think the General Public is aware of this yet, but it could be BIG, EXTREMELY BIG for a company like AAPL just-about to announce their 5G iPhones !

Can you say 20+% hit to the stock ???

If the MR staff does their homework on this, I wonder if they will specify "Don't Buy" for the upcoming iPhones 12.

Food for thought.

BTW, this will soon become Common Knowledge to the General Public.

You can consider this simply to be a Head's-Up, because MR did NOT cover it yesterday !

Thanks. Saving this post to use as a drinking game at my first post-quarantine house party. Exclamation point? DRINK!

It's in the books (maybe a sequel to Hitchhiker's).... Zaphod asks the ship computer (or Marvin) to do something or answer something, and the response is something like "that's immoral" or "I won't"... and Zaphod responds in a similar manner to "shove it". Haha.

20% hit to the stock takes it back less than a month ago. I’m expecting 50% hit to the stock.

You do know that no one really cares about 5G, right?

It is just another cellular network and shares all of the same major downsides as every generation before it.
Did you seriously say no one cares about 5G? I got it that it's just another network but people do care. Even if it's for the wrong reasons because they're just tech blind and think 5 is better than 4 so I want 5. People care so much that AT&T actually put a fake 5G logo on the top of iPhones to trick customers into thinking they were on a 5G network. You might say who would be dumb enough to fall for that but most people don't have a clue what the G even stands for. They just want the bigger number.

The carriers do get advanced heads up from Apple on the exact launch date - probably about ~30 days in advance for activation server stress testing. The marketing departments, however, do not receive this info. They are probably working on no real information to put these emails together.

:) My own rumor is that it is going to be a iPhone 12 announcement is the new rumor now! (Watch this post get zapped!) Who would of thought Apple would announce the iPhone 12 models in the month of September? Amazing, huh? Me!:D

I personally am hoping that the 5.4” iPhone 12 is available in midnight blue too! :)

I really start believing that too, why all the hype and Twitter hashtag for an event with just an Apple Watch and iPads?

Also, apparently they're calling the event "Apple Special Event" on their SEED app, though it's not referred as to "Special" anywhere else. Maybe to continue the discussion about whether or not we will see iPhones.
I don’t think they would surprise people by sneaking in the iPhone. I know a few people that take off work to watch the iPhone event, they won’t take off for an iPad/Watch event. Apple wants the most amount of viewers as possible. If people think they aren’t going to announce iPhones they will be less likely to watch the event. Also what everyone else said about Apple loosing money by announcing a phone a month before its released.

Amazon and SpaceX will have low orbital satellite networks that will provide 5GB mps in operation in 2022! Even fiber optical cable cannot match that performance!

It’s probably closer to 90 days. Last year, SoftBank’s president leaked the iPhone 11 launch date nearly two months in advance.

Oh yea thanks that definitely does happen in the version with Marvin. Will need to watch to find the exact part.
