Ha, I might need to just remove the commentary from all the severe weather alert notifications. It's funny in theory for CARROT to joke about a tornado warning, but not so much if you actually get hit by a tornado.

since updating to os3 my carrot weather isn't updating itself in the complication very well. it's even lagging very badly in the watch app.. and even after the app updates, the complication is not. what gives?

Hello MakerofCarrot. I just recently bought the AW Series 2, and decided to purchase your Carrot weather app along with the subscription to the premium functions. I've only had the app installed on my watch for less than 6 hours. However I've noticed that after a few times of going into the app to view more details of the current weather, the app freezes and I can't scroll up or down or go back to the previous screen. The only way I can resolve this is to uninstall the app on my watch and then reinstall. Is this a common problem or is it just me? Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks!

Hmm, can you email support at meetcarrot dot com so we can troubleshoot this?

That's... definitely very strange. I haven't heard of any reports of the app freezing, especially not in a way where it stays on the screen and is just not responsive at all. If an app crashes, it should exit immediately. Does this only happen when you go to one of the details screens? Which details screen does it happen on, the current, hourly, or one of the daily ones?

It usually happens on this screen (I took a picture). Sometimes I can't scroll down with the crown. I can close the app and remove it from the Dock. But once I re-open Carrot, it will then freeze on the daily screen. The only thing that seems to solve the issue is to uninstall the app and then reinstall.

Hmm, I'll look into that. In the meantime, you can force quit apps by holding down the side button until the power off / medical id / etc screen comes up, then hold down the digital crown. That way you don't have to uninstall/reinstall the app every time.

Thank you. I do hope you can find the cause of this...otherwise I do love your app! I live in Vancouver Canada where it rains all the time and I'm actually looking forward to the rain so I can see how your app works!!!

Hi @MakerOfCARROT, just wanted to pick up your app because a lot of weather apps are having issues on apple watch complications after watchOS3. I really like how you have humidity and rain chance on the same screen.

The last page or 2 of posts seem to be dealing with issues though.
Can you or other posters here clarify if your app is having issues on showing complications correctly and updating ?
I really like seeing this info, the old app I used was the weather underground app for rain chance but it's been weeks and they don't seem to be fixing the issue. Just getting --------- where the info should be.

How's Carrot doing?
Thanks!

How's Carrot doing?

The vast majority of users aren't having any issues, and I've identified fixes and workarounds for most of the problems people have encountered so far.

This thread has just mostly turned into a support and beta feedback thread now that it's grown so incredibly long :p

Thanks for keeping up here though, it's great to see the evolution of your app since page 1 :)
(although in reading I skipped a bunch of pages)

It's really great to see how you have kept in contact with users and worked to make this app better, and more fun !

It's definitely a plus and appreciated!

Thanks MakerofCARROT my issues with your app have cleared up. I haven't had my watch screen freeze since the second day. I wanted to ask you a few questions about the app:

1) What is the red line that goes through the box showing the temperature in 2 hour increments?
2) Is there only 2 hour increments in displaying the temperature/weather?

Glad to hear it, maybe it was just a weird bug in watchOS!

1) The red line is a graph of the change in temperature over the course of the day.

2) And yes, the hourly details screen currently shows every other hour. I did it this way for two reasons: first, because it's a lot more readable and second, because watchOS has trouble handling lists that are longer than about 15-20 rows, so there would be performance problems with displaying all 24 hours.

Just got the app, having some issues. Complications will only update when I open the iphone app. I have it set to refresh in the background on my watch. Also, the app on the watch itself is always frozen, I cannot scroll up or change locations etc. Series 0 watch os 3

Hmm that's strange! Have you tried rebooting your watch? I'd recommend sending a support ticket through the settings screen of the iPhone app, it's usually faster and easier to do troubleshooting by email.

And yes, if you upgrade to the premium version, the complication will update itself automatically every 30 minutes.!

Is this 30 minute update still true even on the original Apple Watch?! If so it is an instant buy for me. My issue with weather underground is outdated complications and the default can be hit or miss.

Yep! There is no difference in features between the two Apple Watch versions.

I had the same problem with my Watch 2.
Rebooted watch & seems OK now - will see how it goes. Have been using Carrot on the watch (0) for a long time & 1st time this has happened.

Was this after one of the recent app updates? There was one last week and one just today. There's a known issue in watchOS 3 where an app update will sometimes "break" the app/complication until you reboot.

Stupid question: the short-term rain chart (with 15m, 30m, and 45m), are they simply minutes ahead (of now), or minutes of the (current) hour?

@MakerOfCARROT

One question: I just bought the app (not IAP yet) is the Mac app still required to get updates and notifications on the phone?

I know the IAP is for the watch and doesn't need the Mac app. Is the Mac app still necessary?
