True...but getting stuff in and out of a backpack is not easy. Backpacks are great if you are GOING to a location and want to unpack there...like you are going to the library to study. Backpack might work if you are going to go on a walkabout for the day, but I think getting in and out of the car, accessing your iPad from time to time, you still need something else.

My litmus test is this...I am standing in line at the return counter at Best Buy... one of the worst in town...and almost always a 10-20 minute wait just standing there...although Walmart was so long the other day, I left the line and went and shopped...came back and it was still a 20 minute wait (ok, I return/exchange a lot...sue me...but it could be the doctors office, or sitting outside a store while the wife shops, take your pick).

How easy can I whip out my iPad? It it is in the backpack...not so easy. If the bag has a flap over, still not as easy, at least not to jam it back in the bag. It has got to be easy to access...really easy to access.

+1 on the backpack.

I finally found a man bag that I like.

http://www.knomobags.com/row/men/bags/messenger/bungo.html

I have been using this bag for two weeks, one to work and now on holidays on a island. It's a great bag and I can carry all the stuff I need including camera, wallet, iPhone, keys, lunch, glasses etc and the iPad. I use my iPad naked but I've found a nice Cygnett slim sleeve that fits in the back pocket of the bag for added protection. This stays in the bag and I can whip the iPad out easily.

So far I'm very happy with the bag and I'm enjoying having everything with me.

Holy smokes $250 for a bag. I thought my Muzetto was expensive.

I was in the Army for 26 years and had a map bag. Where the straps attached to the bag, vertically, on the sides, the sewing would always pull away from the bag. So I would be real interested in how your bag holds up.

been using the bag since 2002, I used to put an iBook in there for field problems, never had much trouble, thing is made strong, Army Strong. The newer ones are Nylon and not canvas, like this one.

That's great! This is exactly why I went with the Fossil city bag- strong sewing at those two key points. Sounds like you're (still?) in the military? I had a gateway I took to Iraq and the sand just killed it.

I was medically separated in 2006 for my injuries obtained in 2004, which is cool I am now retired.

I also use the iPad case from apple, to keep the screen safe, it a perfect combination.

I have the MEC Small Carry All Shoulder Bag, from Mountain Equipment Co-op, $19 (Cdn)

http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_...older_id=2534374302699955&bmUID=1278450192232

my iPad in a standard Apple case fits perfectly in the main compartment of this bag, with room to spare for documents, etc. there are several other small compartments for your other stuff. small, lightweight, inexpensive, and well made (MEC bags are great)

you can check out the reviews on the product page for more feedback about the bag, from both M and F.

OK, murse on order . . .

I ordered a XS Timbuk2 Messenger yesterday. Brown/Navy/Brown with orange trim! Intentionally non-corporate as I have enough black corporate bags for a lifetime. Needs to get here by the end of July as I have a business meeting in Hawaii . . . Wife approved (she helped me design it).

Does she get to go on the trip??? I hope so!

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do ours! (My 14yo daughter went for the boring black one :D)

Just got an e-mail letting me know that my Muzetto 10" Portable is shipped via USPS. Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. :D

Look like a man? Black leather satchel. Anything iPad sized is going to look a little odd, but every man can get away with a messenger bag or a briefcase, depending on age or where you work.

Something that goes well with both that's fine and iPad sized is FREITAG. Http://freitag.ch

Take mine with me everywhere, iPad always comes along for the ride!

I've embraced my inner women and went with this purse...

http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/me...||p_weight|0&rec=12&pn=c&imagePath=MBG1170200

The iPad fits perfectly in the big pocket and there is plenty of room for accessories in the others. Also, I can fit my dlsr (canon 40d, no grip, 28-70L 2.8 installed) in the middle and the iPad still fits in the front without the zipper shut (flap still closes perfectly).

The one I picked up is much darker than that shown and looks good with jeans or a collar.

Cool, what cool did you end up ordering? :D

I got the Copper one.

Nice. I think the darker one looks nicer than the light one you linked to. Post pics with it loaded and on you.

I use this military bag I bought off Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JYB5L4/ref=oss_product

It doesn't look like a purse and holds my iPad inside of a Yoobao knock-off and then inside of a the iPad Neoprene sleeve perfectly. I figure that way if it starts raining, the neoprene sleeve should keep the ipad from getting wet.

I got this military bag today. For the price I couldn't pass it up. It's going to be a good bag for when I go to places where I don't want my Muzetto bag standing out lol.

And, it's definitely going to be my Winter bag. I still have to get used to it because it doesn't keep its shape like the Muzetto since this bag is all canvas.

I received several compliments on my Muzetto bag while I stood in line for the Greenville Apple Store grand opening this morning. :)
