I wish this bag was sold in black, it looks ideal. The girl doesn't suit it either.

I could imagine Solid Snake carrying his iPad in one.

Perfect - This is what I have been looking for. $49.95 with an extra $15 for shipping to the UK.

hard to describe-
but I'd like a strap that can go around and secure the ipad in the Apple case or in a small case, (like a ribbon around a present), and the strap has a very short carry strap connected that goes over the shoulder, but the ipad stays under my upper arm, not dangling lower.
hmmm, sounds like a purse!
most shoulder straps are way too long for what I want. and carry bags are too bulky.
anyone see a strap device like this? maybe at the S&M store!

A small, retractable strap on the apple case would be convenient. So I can hang it on a hook when washing my hands. If it were long enough you could wear like a purse if the need arises.

Well, the one I ended up with has just that...an adjustable strap.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R2EJSS/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It can quickly convert from very long around the neck, a little shorter over the shoulder but down by the waist, or very short for just over the shoulder or for use with the carry handle all bundled up.

The strap can easily be removed and thrown in the front pocket along with my wallet and cell phone, camera kit adapter, vga out, pen and small pad of paper, earbuds, etc.

But, I have not needed to remove the straps because of the quick adjust and it adjusting down to quite short, it works out just right to just grab the handles and the strap flops down to the level of the bag and obscure.

Overall I have grown to really like the case. There is a LITTLE too much room in the main compartment...and it is not soft lined like I would like, it does not seem to rest too much on the ipad screen...and I have a soft chamois inside to put across the screen if I think it is going to rub a lot. I think this little inexpensive bag would work ideal with the Apple case when you want to not have to hold the iPad in your hands.

While considering this I showed it to my gf. First word out of her mouth, almost pavlovian knee-jerk reaction - "murse". Normally a comment like that wouldn't deter me, but in conjunction w/ the price it put it out of the running. I do agree it's wonderful, maybe if I could just see one in person... (anyone in San Diego?)

Murse it may be but it's one of the most stylish carrying bags you can get. I'm 6'4" and the amount of praise it gets when it's on my shoulder is astonishing - particularly from the women...

I've embraced my inner women and went with this purse...

The iPad fits perfectly in the big pocket and there is plenty of room for accessories in the others. Also, I can fit my dlsr (canon 40d, no grip, 28-70L 2.8 installed) in the middle and the iPad still fits in the front without the zipper shut (flap still closes perfectly).

The one I picked up is much darker than that shown and looks good with jeans or a collar.
Iw as in for a surprise because I have a similar bag that I think highly of, but this one does indeed look great.

Important

Any body bags available that strap on your chest usually with velcro and have the bag on your bag tightly positioned with no dangling, used to have one, but I can't find anything good right now, this are super practical and comfortable because you don't even feel you carry anything. Unlike the godawful backpacks they have only one strip that fastens diagonally on the chest.

I have been using an Osprey Flip courier bag which is nicely sized for an iPad and paperwork (see below). Although I consider it to be manly I had an agressive peddler in New York tell me it was a man purse.

+1 Tom Bihn Ristretto for iPad. Really nice. Handles the apple case.

http://www.tombihn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2825&Ristretto

I have both the Tom Bihn Ristretto and the Waterfield Muzetto for the iPad. I always use the Ristretto. It's just way more functional and "manly" looking :) . The internal eyelets it has are perfect for adding small pouches from Tom Bihn to hold adapters and cords and such. I've been using this bag for 2 1/2 months and it's like new with no issues. Spend the extra $20 for the optional Absolute strap. Makes the strap on the Waterfield or any other bag I've ever used look pathetic by comparison.

Steve with Cyber Acoustics

Man, these Cyber Acoustics guys are persistent. First they get their thread on iLounge locked and now they take every opportunity to peddle their case here.

This is a BAG thread. There is already a thread for your case, and several other threads for cases. Let's at least try to keep it in the same category.

hmmmm I keep debating between the two...would you say the Waterfield is less functional but more aesthetically pleasing? What color did you get for both?

I was just looking at their website and it seems they are out of stock of all colors and have an ETA of 14th Sept.

Here's what i'm using and I really like it, Timbuk2 Classic Messenger - XS. Mine is in custom colors selected through their Build Your Own Bag feature.

The Tom Bihn is black exterior and wasabi (green) interior. The Waterfield is brown leather exterior with the black nylon inner flap.

The Waterfield is only "better" in that it's leather. I love the Waterfield sleeves and have several I've used for years. But the Muzetto really just isn't nearly as functional as the Ristretto.
