i was another one of those people with not the biggest of expectations for the movie, despite being a huge owen wilson fan. i just didn't think it looked like it could sustain for a full movie of fast car races, and for whatever reason, owen wilson's voice didn't seem like it'd be that special. saw the movie this past saturday and realized i was definitely wrong. owen's awesome laid back style still came through in his voice, as always. dumb of me to not expect that. also thought that it was great visually, pretty good story, and definitely funny and entertaining.

i am not sure how i would rate all the pixar movies, but this one would certainly be pretty high up there.

I love it. I saw it on friday night at the drive in. It has to be one of my favorit pixar movies.

So right now it is bettween Incredibles and cars for me. More leaning on Incredidibles still by my favorit one by them. I like Nemo and monster. But I never really got into the TOy stories or bugs life. I like them but they just are not ones I really love.

Cars and Incredibibles I love and loved. Plan on buy cars the day it goes to DVD.

I saw it last night and thought it was great. It made me want to go drive Route 66 for myself. I saw Over the Hedge a few days ago and was really disappointed in that. I think a lot of the animated pictures coming out now really aren't that funny or entertaining, but Cars definitely was worth it.

Just saw it yesterday with the 2 1/2 year old. He watched the whole thing and at the end said "See again! See again!". I'm looking forward to going back and seeing it again myself - the tractor tipping was great :D

I'll have to go back and make sure to see all the extras that I missed.

I'm totally with you on that. I think the boys and I blasted right past it when we went through Palm Springs on our way to the Grand Canyon from So Cal. Regarding Pixar (and Apple), isn't it great that there are companies that are so in touch with their demographic? It just seems as though that's not so common these days...

I saw it yesterday, and though it wasn't phenomenal, it's one of the best movies I've seen in recent times. Though coming from what we saw in the first trailer last year, it was much better than expected.

I'm still going to say Finding Nemo is my favorite Pixar film. None of the others have as many memorable lines and moments, though Cars did have a surprising number of allusions throughout.

I especially loved the little tribute to John Ratzenberger (Hamm, P.T. Flea, Yeti, Fish School, Underminer, and now Mack) who has played a voice role in every Pixar film so far.

"What kind of cut rate production is this?"

My took my family to see it today as well, and we all really enjoyed it. Great laughs, good one liners, and overall another great Pixar flick!

Toy Story 1 and 2 are still my favorites from Pixar, followed by The Incredibles!

maybe I'll go see it just for the fun of it.. I hear from everyone its suposed to be good.. or maybe I'll buy it when the DVD comes out...

I rained like the Dickens out here on Saturday, so we loaded the grandparents and little one out to the movies. It was my son's first movie theater movie, he's 3 by the way. Aside from the potty breaks, he was entranced. I glanced over at him a few times, and he was watching the movie intently. Yay! I loved the animation, although the ending did not feel very original (aside from the fact that it was talking cars). Still, it was a good movie overall. I would rank it below The Incredibles.

What really gets me is that there are a number of reviews out there that didn't like the movie. I'm thinking that these people are panning the film just because it is a Pixar movie....bleh.

Our neighbor was taking her 8 y.o. to see it this passed weekend, so my son and I went and saw it again. He's only 2 1/2 and he's now quoting the movie after just seeing it twice when he plays with a couple of the matchbox cars I manage to get before they sold out :D

Ha, not yet -

He acts out the movie and one of his favorite lines in the Sheriff - "Boy-eh, you're in a heep of trouble!" or "Not in my town"

And I said "Gentlemen, Start Your Engines" and he said - "Sheriff says that"

Scary. :D

yeah, i don't get why it got such mediocre reviews, when finding nemo was praised. ahh well, i don't pay attention to critics anyways.

i also saw over the hedge (before i saw cars) and thought it was very good too. then again, i particularly like the "message" of that one...
