Interestingly, that was the other way around, the cartoon came from the live action movie Disney ripped off - Buster Keaton's film Steamboat Bill Jr.
Did someone say Disney was interested in intellectual property rights? He/they barely even changed the title name. Yet Steamboat Willie has had 4 copyright extensions by the US Congress to stop people stealing it - like Disney did. Thieves smell their own.
Don't get me started on everything else Disney has stolen.. Pinocchio, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland etc etc... but staying on thread topic, I was going to suggest Kimba the White Lion as a cartoon to make into a film, except hey, Disney's stolen that too for The Lion King.
I can't stand Disney films either. Really can't stand them. The only one I'd ever watch again might by (might be) The Emperor's New Groove.
