I am not against the redesign. But why would Apple invest more money on a new design especially for the budget iPad when they can just reuse the 10.5-inch iPad Air design. With the redesign, I am pretty sure they will bump up the price. Many people really like the base iPad because of its affordability.

Putting a 10.5-inch display in the 10.9-inch Air chassis isn't a redesign. But I'd agree there's likely a price increase coming.

Apple being apple, they need their entry level products to be kind of ****** for the price. Even if it will cost them extra to create another productionline, the people who are willing to pay the premium for the “modern” display are worth it for Apple.

Can't really trust such manufacturers. From a marketing perspective, why would they label their new cases "2021"? Of course they will put "2022". I don't trust anything not certifiably labeled "Made for iPad".

You need to let go of that old thinking. Sure, there have been situations in the distant past where the entry-level model is of a lower standard, but not the past several years. (Note: Less SSD space does not mean it's a ****** device. Some users don't need lots of storage space, so why force them to pay for it?)

It’s just a selling technique, spark interest with a lower priced device and then upsell to the more expensive modern version.

Apple Watch series 3 and Apple TV HD are 2 products that come to mind.

It’s just weird they are now even willing to design a whole new product, just to make it look less modern than the Air.

But they can finally stop producing the gen 1 Pencil now, so that should make them some money.

I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to go to apple today and trade-in any iPad you have for a gift card in case the entire line drops in value once the press release appears on their website? That’s only of course if you are planning to upgrade this year.

Anyone have experience if this was the case last year?

Looks good and nice specs if they are all true. Many people will be very happy with this 'entry level' iPad 10, but how much is it gonna cost in the UK with the recent price increases. I reckon increase from £319 RRP to £399, though would not be surprised at all if full £100 increase to £419.

Will THIS support Stage Manager?
No, it's a case. ;)

As long as it has at least an A12X or A12Z or later processor. So: most likely.
Tenth generation likely won't get a AxX or Mx series chip. Whether or not Apple brings Stage Manager to Ax (likely A14) iPads is the question. Maybe, cuz A14 is in a similar performance ballpark to A12X, and it will likely have the same 4 GB RAM as the iPad Pro 2018 with A12X.

Virtual memory swap features are supposedly limited to X series processors, A12X/Z and A14X (M1). Given iPad is expected to come with A14, it's not likely.

I had to replace my Air 2 not long ago so I bought the 9th gen. If it’s the last iPad with a headphone jack it’ll take the sting out of the timing a lot for me!

If anyone wants to do some research about this, the barcode number is 840168528172 and the person who took the photos lives around Malibu, CA.

Looks like maybe leaks are close to reality? It looks like a square 10.5 screen, a iphone xs style camera cutout, and touch id power button. The product photo doesn't look to have a home button, though that isn't really confirmation tbf.
