iPhone 6 and trending toward larger screen

It would be a HUGE mistake not to release the larger 5.7 inch iPhone 6 at the same time as the iPhone 4.7 inch model (which is a waste). People are clamoring for the larger screen so don't screw with them.

I saw these pics and thought, "A milk chocolate iPhone would be delicious."

Indeed! :D

Polite request for MR

Can you guys make a special section for this amateur made mock-ups and covers etc? Lately it takes up like 50% of MR content and I am really not interested in this kind of stuff.

I really don't care what a random person made in his garage from PVC leftovers or in his pirated 3d Max Studio and I think I am not alone.

It was a mistake for them not to release it last September. I honestly do not know what took apple so long.I wouldnt be surprised if they made us wait until next year for a 5.5 iPhone.

with apples lack of attention to bezel size this 5.5" phone is going to be an outright beast to hold in a normal sized hand

Am I the only one who thinks a 5.5 inch iPhone probably won't even happen?

I wish it did happen, but maybe you are right. It it happens, will it have the home button and be bigger than the Sony Z ultra? I don't know.

Apple needs a 4S or 5S sized new phone with upgraded internals and 128 GB storage.

I hope they keep the 4" model with upgraded internals, and if they do and release one bigger model, OEMs should stop making phones right now.

Then what would they have to post? Apple hasn't exactly been popping lately with anything new. Yeah these iphone mock up story threads can get repetitive . But at least the comments are entertaining.

Im going to need some bigger hands.....

Dave is ready for the 6S ...

Would Apple most likely announce both of them with different release dates or just pretend the 5.5" does not exist until a few months later? I don't wanna sign a 2 year agreement on a 4.7" to break it a few months in..

I totally agree, if there’s a product, in the pipeline, that’s due for release within 2-3 months, I’d _really_ hope they at the very least announce it. That being said, I’m sure that would have major impact on the smaller model - from a business perspective, I’d release them together or delay several months on the other product (will still tick people off, ala iPad3>iPad4)

I am not interested in a phone that I cannot pocket easily. I don't get the need to carry around a "phablet" for lack of a much better word. I just want a phone that is easy to cary and functions well. The iPhone has fit for years but I'm starting to think if there is a 4.7" iPhone then fine, perhaps. A 5.5" iPhone will be the only iPhone I will not own.

Mockups and rumors are the bread and butter of this site thus the name, MacRumors. I don't personally care if you think that mockups and rumors take up more than 50% of the site content. Nor do I care that you think that the mockups and rumors are fabricated by some dude in his garage using PVC leftovers or pirated 3D Studio Max. As far as I'm concerned, when you come to a site asking to isolate rumors and mockups on a site that is dedicated to them, you are alone.

I'm just waiting to see what they do with it. I think the 4.7 is a nice sweet spot and would satisfy the majority of the consumer population. Anything bigger than that just looks awkward and you might as well get an ipad mini instead.
I think even if they released the 4.7 and 5.5 at the same time, I'd still buy the 4.7.

These candy bars look great though...

81mm! 67mm is already unacceptable!

Of course if you're like those people who pretend to have super big hands like basketball players, you are free to troll.

I REALLY want the 5.5", but I too am skeptical that we will see it this year. But one can always hope. I've been on iOS since 2011 (bought a used ip4 to replace my Droid X) and came over in-spite of the small screen size, not for it. Having a larger screen running iOS is a dream come true. I really, really hate the tiny screen on my iPhone 5.

5.5" Im coming back Apple!

And Im not going to say "I hope Apple doesnt make the 4.7" - Because I dont want it".

Here's the difference of an iPhone5 to the 5.5" model based on those sizings.

Please MacRumors, don't post this image up as a news article.

Please, someone explain why you click on it to post just to complain about its existance rather than just skipping past it. To me what is worse that repetitive posts is having to scroll though repetitive whining about repetitive posts.

No kidding!! I hate reading the postings from the people that complain because they opened the thread AND POSTED that they hate the thread!!!

I've upgraded my hands and pocket size to 2.0 last winter for a 5.7" Note 3. I am thus ready for a 5.5" iPhone (with 128GB of course).
