On the other hand Victoria's Secret is like Apple in that they tend to offer primarily the smaller cup sizes in nice styles. They usually have only two or three larger-than-D-cup bras which are full-coverage - no demi- or balconette-style larger breasts. For those of us who are well-endowed but not fat, Victoria's isn't much of an option. Why make the nicer bras for women with nothing to show off, but leave give us with nice breasts only the option of completely hiding them?

Finding well-fitting tops in most stores is equally difficult - there is of course the option of XL or XXL tops, but then the tops are super loose around the arms and waist to accommodate the chest. To choose a top which otherwise fit, they pucker between and below the breasts. :-(

You're going to cause nerdgasms by the hundreds. And you'll probably get too many PM requests. If you would just say you have a choice-placed Apple tattoo, you might get multiple proposals for marriage by midnight.;)

I walked into a shirt shop today and noticed that they had a bunch of other sizes than the size that perfectly fit my own needs. How dare they!

<snip>

But for all those other situations, why does anyone need bigger or smaller sizes than the size that I find perfect for me right now? Everything should be made in just a single size that I deem perfect for me.
Couldn't have put it better if I tried. Would you mind re-posting this every time this dreary topic gets repeated? Obviously it's a pain for you, but it will save so much time for everybody else.

I don't know what's worse! Repetitive whining about repetitive posts? Or repetitive whining about repetitive whining about repetitive posts...

And yes.. This could go on but I think I've made the point :D

Clearly the whining about repetitive posts because the others wouldn't exist otherwise. ;)

But you didn't answer my question why people bother to do the former. I did ask a question, but you only provided additional snark.

Poor comparison. More like you walk into the store and ONLY find sizes that are too large. I'm happy apple is servicing your needs, but believe it or not some people do prefer a phone to be compact.

I really hope this 5.5 rumor is true. I've been using a Lumia 1520 and for the most part I love it. If it were just a smidge smaller I think that would be my personal sweet spot. I've been wanting to come back to iOS for work/school purposes, so a 5.5 iPhone would be great for me.

Even better if they are truly going to put out two new sizes. Leaving three size options on the market for us to choose from.

Do you guys think that Apple are making the 5.5" to attract customers away from the Galaxy Note series? I wonder whether this was the plan all a long and Steve Jobs had worked on this in advance. Or are these bigger iPhones going to come out because Steve Jobs is no longer around to say no, is Tim Cook listening to what customers want.

Personally i look forward to a 5.5" phone, i know a few people on here are not, but if its wasn't for Samsung's touchwiz and Andriod i would own a Note 3. The fact that Apple might be doing one to compete with Samsung i think is a great thing :D i just hope they don't do a stylus like Samsung have done with the S-pen.

I know what you mean, gal. Yesterday I walked into my local adult store, and the rhinestone-studded banana hammocks were only available in the small to medium sizes. Want an XL or XXL model? You're gonna have to buy one in the shape of an elephant's trunk, which is simply aesthetically incompatible with my washboard abs.

Oh, and I'm going to get the 5.5" iPhone 6 as well.

Steve Jobs must be turning over in his grave right now :D

Maybe. Then again…

Steve: "Who wants video on an iPod?" (before there was a video iPod"
Later
Steve: "Introducing our new iPod with video"

Apparently people did want video on iPods, so Apple chose to evolve a view to feed a niche demand rather than lock in with only 1 view and let others have that revenue.

3.5" is the perfect size
Introducing the 4" as the new perfect size
Introducing the 4.7" as the new, new perfect size
Introducing the 5.5" as the new, new, new perfect size.

That probably doesn't make sense. But how about:

"Introducing the iPhone line of 3 screen sizes to fit everyone's needs"

If Apple can bring themselves to launch 2 phone variants in 5s and 5c, what's to stop them from 3 variants of 4", 4.7" and 5.5"? Does Apple want the money for those that want sizes other than the one perfect size? Or does Apple want that money to keep going elsewhere?

Whether some of "us" believe it or not, we already have the answer to that last question. The Samsung court case revealed that Apple is well in tune with the market wanting screens bigger than Apple's current offerings. They're coming. And we all win when they get here (Apple too).

One can hope, I suppose. I don't understand the market obsession for giant phones that are too big for pockets and too big for one handed use.

I'm beginning to think folks here have very small pockets. Really, 4.7" isn't that big. People have been using these larger screens for years now. It's nothing shocking or impossible to use.

Apple wants you to invest your money on incremental improvements to the devices, which really is what every company wants. Apple just does it slower than other companies. I am actually thankful that the upgrade worthy devices only come out every couple of years from Apple. If I were sucked into the Android world, I would be dumping money so quickly on the latest and greatest hardware!

I agree though, having 3 device sizes would be optimal for all. But the 5.5" is reportedly going to be "delayed," which means folks will spend money on the 4.7" only to upgrade again when the 5.5" comes out. I've gotta resist falling into that trap myself!

Do we really think the 5.5inch phone is going to be the 6S?

I don't like the way things are playing out..

4s - 3.5inch
5- 4inch
6 - 4.7inch
6s - 5.5inch

????

If I come across someone with an iPhone that size, I'm going to point my finger and laugh.

Look.. The iPhone 4S was a great size, The 5S is okay too, but I really preferred the 3.5 inch sized screen.. Why would I want bigger than the 5S? How much bigger are these things going to get anyway?

This drift to ever larger sizes? Where does it end? If 4.7" isn't that much bigger, why not keep it at 4.0"? I just don't see the need. I have larger iPads if I need more screen real estate. This is a phone, not an iPad. And making bigger iPhone screens seems like a cheap substitute for actual innovation. I'm really not onboard with this at all. When the 6S comes out, if it's a 4.7" screen I suppose I'll be stuck with that, but it's not anything I'm looking forward to.

How would you like it ?

If apple would pick 1, or maybe 2 screen sizes.

then stick with them.

what they are doing now makes it look like a bigger screen is an upgrade,
makes it look like bigger is better.
which makes the average consumer think they should go with whatever size is biggest, so most likely a samsung

Anything bigger than that just looks awkward and you might as well get an ipad mini instead.

Really? You don't think that there is any difference between a 5.5" phone and a 7.9" tablet?

I would laugh till the cows come home, if all these dimensions turned out to be fake. :D

The 5.5" barely fits in my shirt pocket. I wouldn't even consider it. May be more appropriate for women who will carry them in a handbag (or men who carry murses). Way too big for a pocket, though. The good news is, if the bigger one is released later, it may be easier to get the 4.7" when it comes out because many will be holding out for the bigger one. I think it's still 50/50 whether Apple will even release one that size.

I don't mind if they do, but they better offer the same features, other than size.

must learn to adapt... What do you think its going to be like in 20 years? be happy you have a small computer in your hand. you think people are going to be complaining in the future when there are phones all different sizes? Really its not that big of a deal. Give people more options. You are against technology evolving? Would you like to stay in 2010 forever?
people are here complain too much. I used to have a pager and was happy about it. Relax everything will be just fine...

exactly people are just huge complainers. my mini actually fits in most of my pants back pockets and sweatshirts. Not well but it fits :D
5.5 is nowhere close to a 8" tablet.
