Case Manufacturer Shows Off Claimed Next-Generation iPod Touch Design Mockup

no guys, this is legit, because they predicted the iPod mini's camera!!!!:)

Also, did anyone think it was odd that this iPod is running os 2!?!?!?!
 
Thinking about it - I'd love to see some colours! I'll definitely get one for my sister in green, if I'll have the choice. She wants a GPS, so Apple, take note!

It's a portable iSight. Since FaceTime is wifi only, it would have the exact same functionality as the iPhone 4's FaceTime. Why wouldn't you want that? IMO a front camera is more likely than a back one.

Anyone else puzzled that the mockup
includes Flash? Considering that the iphone's sensor is too big, I don't see how it could fit.
 
personally i like the touch design curved as is, but since apple is apple they will most likely change it to look like the iphone. i think they should keep the curved back but make it a different material that doesnt show scratches because the one thing i see with the touch is SCRATCHES and i don't like that at all, the new iphone glass would be nice but it might be too expensive to make it that curved shape. also i wouldn't mind brushed aluminum as someone mention above.

The screen graphic is ancient and a placeholder, so no, no one thought it was odd. Just you.

Same placement as the iPhone.

And that's not a white iPod touch. That's an aluminum back (as opposed to current chrome).

There is nothing not believable about this rumor. I don't think the iPod touh can withstand another round sans camera. I mean if a nano has one...
And it's not far fetched to imagine it having an aluminum backside.

Even if a mockup, it's aligned with even modest expectations.

All that said, no holes for flash seems goofy. I can see that clear case illuminated by the flash and adversely effecting pictures.
 
Sorry, but I have a hard time believing this is the next iPod touch. Sleep/wake is on the wrong side. And it's not running on iso 4.0.

Yeah, my thought too. In order for this to be a killer upgrade, I'd want to see the front and rear cameras, retina display, and 128G of space. If Apple does that, I'm there. If not, I'll stick to the old one. A rear camera just isn't worth the upgrade.

No, from Apple's perspective is more like... the iPhone will always be superior so if I as a consumer want the superior product (with GPS, higher res cam, etc) I must pay monthly homage to their ATT buddies :mad::mad::mad:

I seem to remember a lot of people saying similar things about the iPhone 4 when it was first discovered.
 
After my many years of saying that mockups suck and that this isn't real and that isn't real.... I have to say that this mockup shows one hell of a pretty impressive iPod Touch.

I'd be interested in a 64GB model if it looked like that with all of the iPhone 4 features sans 3G.

LOL yeah because a case manufacturer has a screenshot of iOS 4 running on the the new iPod touch.

Nope! Same screen shot they use for every iPod touch case they've ever sold.
 
I do not think that is accurate. I think that Apple will have it look similar to the iPhone 4 and will only have a front-facing camera for Facetime.

And it was pretty much thrown out before production because it didn't work.

The next iPod touch is coming in line with the iPhone, 5 mpx camera with HD vid.rec. + LED flash. It will be in the same location as the iPhone, because toward the center will be the other, front facing camera, for Face Time.

These things are common sense.
 
looks like that plastic transparent look Apple had on there old mice :p.. I think its an improvement over the hold stainless steel plate at the back, that thing is a scratch magnet!! still I was really hoping the new ipod touch would like the iphones..
 
Also, people need to stop predicting iPod touch features based on, "Keeping it Different from the iPhone."

Apple. Does. Not. Worry. About. This.

The products have existed for 3 years and have clearly defined themselves as being different individuals, with totally different demographics.

Today its more important for them to be similar, than further differentiated. There is a big enough difference between the two products with 2 year/$100 a mon service, and none.

Yes, because the iPod Touch has always been totally in line with the iPhone. :rolleyes: And exactly how do you accomplish that without making the Touch much thicker than it is now? When has Apple ever intentionally made a product thicker? They're obsessed with things getting thinner.
