So? Apple makes the iPad with 3G. With consoles like the PS Vita having 3G version, it's not in the realm of impossibility that Apple will make a 3G iPod Touch. The only problem with that, On the Cases on the top left, It looks to be a Sim Card slot.
Even though it was taken down so early, they could have just wanted to keep the masses from criticizing them. Or it could be accurate, who knows. Apple has done an A+ job this year at keeping there products under veil
It looks like iPod Touch to me... I like glass-sandwich design of iPhone 4 ))
Yep, everyone has it backwards, this is the new design iPod Touch and the N94 is the new iPhone

We've published a number of articles about iPhone 5 cases suggesting that the device will be significantly wider but thinner than the iPhone 4, but most of those cases have been sourced from relatively low-profile Asian suppliers so far. As noted by BGR, larger U.S. companies such as Case-Mate are now getting into the picture with their own cases based on the same rumored design.
Case-Mate earlier today posted a number of different iPhone 5 case designs, only to quickly pull the page as it began to receive publicity. The cases seem to show the same rounded and tapered profile of other iPhone 5 cases, along with the mute switch being move from the left side of the device to the right side.

Concrete evidence for a redesigned iPhone 5 has been surprisingly scant, with case designs being essentially the only sign of such a revamp. Meanwhile, a number of parts have been surfacing for Apple's "N94" iPhone that is based on the iPhone 4 design and has been informally referred to as the iPhone 4S. Consequently, doubts have been raised about whether the redesigned form factor will actually be making an appearance, with supply chain checks reporting no sign of the device and only the iPhone 4S entering production.
It is difficult to point to Case-Mate's posting as further proof of an imminent redesigned iPhone 5, as the cases are likely based on the same leaked design document used by Asian manufacturers, a document whose authenticity has been called into question given the lack of supporting evidence for such a device. But it is interesting to note that even relatively major U.S.-based case manufacturers are investing in designs for cases based on this form factor.

Come on people. It doesn't look iPad 2-ish! The iPad 2 looks like the first generation iPhone, and so does this phoneRocker placement looks very iPad 2-ish. I think we've reached fever-pitch on these rumors. Time to announce the thing apple.
What could the extra opening in the case be for? A virtual/physical shutter button? Something to do with the rumored inductive charging?
Sorry if this has been already discussed. I didn't have the time to go through all the expanses of this thread.

People are guessing it's the SIM card slot.

Thanks. I thought of that as well, but I am yet to meet someone with an iphone 4 case with an opening for the SIM card slot. Just doesn't seem too likely to me- how many times a day does a regular person switch SIMs?
If it actually has wireless charging, you can throw out the return of the aluminum back.
If the charging is truly inductive, why would you need an open space on the case?
I've seen them. Never bought one, but I've seen them.
I agree. And calling it "Wireless" is not quite right, because it's only the last few inches that are wireless. You still have a wire to the charing pad and you need to put your device on the pad. It can be more convenient to throw your phone on a pad than slip it into a dock, but not a whole lot more convenient and you need more space.
It's most useful when you want to seal the device.
I am not sure if anyone had mentioned this, and I don't have time to browse eleven pages of comments, so I am just going to say it...
those cases look suspiciously 1st generation iPod Touch-ish, especially when considering how the shape of the gap in the upper left of the back side of the case would almost perfectly fit the wireless antenna on the old Touch. Seems to me like the case manufacturer may of had some old renderings of 1st gen touch cases lying around, saw the new mockups of the iPhone 5, noted the similarity in the contouring on the back, and decided to make some mockups of their own for publicity.
So when you have a potential 1 BILLION subscribers of the iPhone 4 coming in the next months, Apple will be glad to bend over and kiss anyones combined butts with a 700 million to 1 Billion potential subscribers.
All this teasing is making me wet
