I heard Hitler loved cats. He called them "The People's Pet." If you love cats, you must be a Na..........

What relevance does Hitler, Cats, and Na.... have to do with anything?

What if G.W.Bush, Sadam, etc...loved canines. Then what would your argument be.....

I saw no point in bringing up history......

Well, the cheetah is my favourite animal but I have a loose rule in my house about pets that can potentially eat me: they're to be kept outside. What good is a pet if you can't cuddle up with it in front of the Sunday night movie?

Cheetahs can easily be domesticated. ;)

Plus they will not eat or bite you if you feed them. That problem is that they eat a lot and they love to run, if you have that kinda of spare acreage by all means. ;)

Clearly you didn't read the Nermal's two "controversy" posts on page one. ;)

Tranquilizer darts can be your best friend. Just don't give the cheetah enough to get knocked out. Get'em a little woozy.

Hell, just let it drink a bit of Jesus Juice™

I can just see it now, mad jew sitting on his couch with his pet cheetah. His pet cheetah is licking his finger tips and nicks his fingertip with its canines. The next few seconds gets a little cloudy..... ;)

Our kids grew up with Sugar. They loved her. While we were away, Stateside, another family kept her during the summer of '04. She got her normal cut, pink bows in her ears, and happily chased tennis balls on the day she died. She had a tumor which the local Vet had missed, and she got too tired to breath, and died that same afternoon. It was our daughter's 19th birthday. When we got the call that night, we waited until the next morning to break the news to Erin. Here's to a wonderful doggy named Sugar.

No. Seriously. She's eaten dog.
She might be pulling your leg as well.

Anyhow, many folks eat dog and cats around the world. In some locals, restaurants specialize in dog or cat. Some are very good.

Basically there are two types. There are your range variety (wild ones -- read pets or strays) and your raised ones (like cattle).

In some countries, they treat the animals who will become food very kindly up until the end. In others, they don't.

Just a little food for thought! :D

Dogs for sure!

They are much more tender, especially when marinated in a nice wine like Marsala or something along those lines. Cat's tend to be more gamey, and harder to prepare!

Like you I just threw up in my mouth after reading that!

Yes, the inevitable moment where business and/or the need to consume something triumphs over anything that stands in the way.

I have 1 dog, Muffy, brilliant she be! and we look after my grans dog quite a lot. she has a dog passport but still we get lumbered with her. Treacle she's called. got her from Spain. very lively, total opposite of the conservative Muffy.

I love looking after them. i always knew I'd love to be a father some day, probably because my parents have always had a dog. when I was born we had Deek (who has a famous father, was an Australian race champion or something) and Tiny. Tiny died when I was young, Deek was put to sleep in about 1998. we got Muffy about 6 months later. and my gran got Treacle in about 2003.

now my girlfriends parents have about 7 cats! makes a change from the hundreds of rabbits they used to keep.

9 dogs, 5 cats, 3 birds, 750 gallons in saltwater aquariums, 2 mice, 2 rabbits, 1 lizard, 6 horses, 2 alpacas, 1 donkey, 2 pigs, and 3 goats. :D

Cool! Having gown up on the farm I can relate.

Although, I am trying to imagine 750 gallons of saltwater aquariums. That must be neat!

Oh, and 2 pigs is a nice number. Once you get into the hundreds, they just turn the air sour.

...same for cattle in many regards. ConAgra in Colorado is a great example. They have one feedlot that is so powerful that you can smell it some 20 miles away on certain days.
