Is the Caudabe case supposed to be fully tight around the left and right sides? This is my first Sheath and it seems like both sides are very, very slightly loose and not as tight as the corners of the phone. Normal?

It’s hard to say. I am in process of waiting for a replacement because they had a batch of Navy sheaths that were manufactured slightly too small, which causes the edges of the case to be slightly loose. Mine feels slightly squishy when I hold it because the sides aren’t tight enough around the phone. I was unsure at first because of the big design change this year. I didn’t ever notice that with my last sheaths though.

Yes it should be tight. I experience the same loose fit while holding the left/right side of the phone.

I immediately contacted Caudabe’s customer support and they replied within an hour. They are sending me a new one at no charge (and you get to the one you have.)

The mold they used for the Sheath is 1mm smaller than the phone. That’s why it won’t wrap around. You’ll get the same email explaining it.

Hope that helps! Their CS team is great!

$26 plus for a plastic case? Oh, hell no
I hear you ... it’s not for everyone. Especially if someone’s like to change cases time to time.

In my case (no pun intended), I didn’t need another case for my iPhone X in over 3 years. The condition of the case remained “like new” despite the age of it.

I agree. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Some people appreciate good craftsmanship/service and some people don't. Like you, I love the Sheath and it's why I keep on using it year after year. It beats anything else I've gotten as far as overall quality. To some that's worth $30, to some it's not. I for one would never buy an Amazon knockoff case. To each their own!

As evident in the XS Max case thread, I went through my fair share of cases for that phone, but ultimately came back to the Sheath time and time again. In fact, it's still on my XS Max, and it's the only case I ordered for the 12 Pro Max.

Garbage logo on the back. Should absolutely disqualify anyone from purchasing - equivalent of putting a bumper sticker on a Rolls Royce.

This is the same as the as Peel Cases you can buy on AliExpress for pennies, you're being scammed paying so much for that made in China junk:

No need to mince words around here.

I love the ol’ phone to automobile comparisons. Dictionary definition of comparing apples & oranges. A company putting a garish logo on their $10 piece of plastic for self-promotion is absolutely nothing like putting a piece of paper to express an opinion or show someone/something support on the clear coat of a $400k car.

Edit: Woof. Three pages of people talking about cases and not a single non-promotional photo. Weak sauce Macrumors.

Yup. Amazon is the budget bin of almost everything these days. I steer clear except for household items. Also a Sheath (on multiple phones) for the same reason. Can't beat the fit and finish. Although I admit I've been using Lucid Clear almost exclusively this last month and loving it. I've had my fair share of clear cases and this is so much nicer than the standard fare soft clear case. Only thing is that it's more fragile than the Sheath so I still like the Sheath long term. But, Lucid Clear is a close second.

It’s very slippery though.

You know, I haven't had issues with that. It's not as grippy as the Sheath obviously, but that's to be expected with any clear case. I haven't dropped it yet, nor has grip even crossed my mind. I guess it's just one of those things that depends from person to person.

The only thing that I don't love is that it shows fingerprints, the same way the side of the iPhone shows fingerprints. But again, that's to be expected with a clear case. The fingerprints wipe off easily. I'll probably still go back to the Sheath because I love the feel of it, but there's something to be said about being able to see the design of the iPhone.

Have you gotten any scratches on the inside of the case from putting your phone in and taking out out?

Just sharing ... my PB iPhone 12P with a Grey “Sheath” case. The grey has some blue undertones. In my opinion the grey is “slate” like.

The photo was taken with my iPhone 6 (aka my son’s glorified IPod touch). 🤣

Not that I can see. Metal will always scratch up plastic so I'm pretty careful. I don't remove my cases a lot though. Before I tried Lucid Clear this year, my routine was more or less get a new iPhone, put on the Sheath, and never take it off again until I upgrade.

Argh. Yes! 🤦🏻‍♂️
Like others with the Sheath and Lucid Clear ... my indecisiveness caused this!

I was rocking the LC while waiting for my replacement Sheath to arrive and loving it! Once I got the updated Sheath I was torn between the 2 and scratched the interior. I’ll be rocking the Sheath now! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not sure if it's the lighting, but that gray goes really well with the pacific blue!
The walls in the house are “platinum white” and it was only natural light in the room. In my opinion, I think they pair great!

I didn’t want to do black and I thought the navy would be too dark. I would have never thought it would have paired so well! Pleasantly surprised.

That looks familiar. You can contact Caudabe Support and they will replace the LC for you. I keep thinking there must be a way to get it in and out without it scratching. Someone here said to put it on bottom first so I’m going to try it one more time before I give up on it. Glad I’m not the only one having the problem.
