Anyone else have the Sheath for the iPhone 13? I received 2 and both units the volume down button is almost flush with the case, but the volume up is normal.

Hey, I received both the Sheath and the Synthesis. In the previous years, the Synthesis was always heavier than the Sheath, but this year it is different?
Sheath 50g, Synthesis 37g. Is this right or did I receive a faulty Sheath unit? With the Sheath, the 13PM is 299g, that is... much.

You’re not wrong. I’ve got both for the 13 PM too, and the Sheath is much heavier this time around because of the way they added MagSafe to it.

Instead of molding the MagSafe rings into the back of the case (like they do on the Synthesis), they basically added a thick plate to the back of the Sheath. While this gives it more rigidity, it also makes it MUCH heavier.

Yep sheath is ruined, not sure how you got 50 mine weighed 40g.

Okay thats very interesting, I weighted it several times and it was 49gr or 50gr (and it feels so heavy, too)..
Just to clear up the confusion I also weighed mine and it shows about 40g for the standard 13 pro. I noticed you have a max which is where the increase weight is coming from.

Overall i think the case is fairly mediocre and wont really add any protection over a standard apple case. Only save you some money at the sacrifice of added weight. Looks and texture is subjective.

The material is actually identical to a $3 case i used to have for my iphone 6. I was surprised as that company is long gone unless they rebranded into caudabe.

you really hate the case that much lol

I think its pretty good and the texture is great, better than the official Apple case. Which case do you rate then because maybe you just have super high standards.

I got a synthesis for my 13PM. Kind of bulky and a bit uncomfortable, but I think I can get used to it (new to iphone, samsung android user with much smaller phone), mostly the shape of the phone itself.

I also purchased Caudabe tempered glass screen protectors, mainly because they cover the front camera notch with only a small notch for the top speaker. installed easily and face recognition and the camera work fine.

Hello, wanna ask how's the synthesis for 13pm, is not slippery? still on the fence on getting one. currently I'm using UAG plyo (ash). it's fine and don't feel bulky and it only weighs 31g. I'm not really into magsafe just want to know if the thinness of the synthesis is worth it next to my uag.

It is not at all slippery. It has got sort of a roughened finish. I do not know though whether that will wear off in time. Also it has some grippy panels on the side which are very effective. I don't fear it slipping out of my hand.

Their tempered glass screen protectors are also nice. The cover the whole front, including the camera notch. There is only a small cutout for the top speaker. Front camera and facial recognition work fine, and so does the touch screen.

Thank you. will place an order now. Hopefully this will be the last case i would buy.

I bought the sheath instead of synthesis. hopefully this will be the last case as i have 3 already (ace pro, speck grip2 and uag plyo). i thought maybe i might miss out something on the sheath if I went with the synthesis.
of the 3 cases i have for now let me just share my impressions:

ace pro (smoked): its sides has a nice texture, the back is smoked and really grippy especially on a humid climate.
I had this on my note20U and really like it but it has very minimal camera protection. on the 13pm it has a very good and camera protection. it could've been my only case BUT, the iphone 13pm is wide already and the ace pro adds more width making it hard for me to do one handed thing. it's a bit heavy.

speck presidio grip2 (blue): i thought this time it was thinner than before. i had them on my pixel 4 and Note20U.
used it for a few days, grip is amazing, it is not heavy but like I mentioned above it still makes the phone wide and this was my only gripe.

uag plyo (ash): i really like this clear case also had it on my Note20U. it ticks all the boxes for me: camera protection, lip protection as well as on the back of the phone and grip. it is thin on the sides and making one handed mode on the 13pm and also Note20U very easy and ticks all the boxes too on the 13pm. there's plenty of lip protection even with screen (glass) protector but not overly so and it's light @ only 31g with a lot of protection. of the 3 cases obviously the uag (i thought uag cases are thick and bulky) was the thinnest and doesn't add much bulk.

I might just prefer other material than to a clear case but if the sheath don't work for me, I''ll just use my uag.

I have a grey sheath for the 13 pro if anyone’s interested can put it in the classifies. Arrived a couple of days ago but decided to stick with my silicone case. I don’t use MagSafe and got too used to the grip from silicone.

I ordered the Lucid Clear for my PM today. I've had one in the past and really liked it. Hopefully it's the same this year.

1. Would you be able to post a pic of the case in the phone?
2. Is this years any different?
3. Is it slippery?

“If your a dropper the sheath is the wrong case anyway.”

I’ll be taking delivery of a 13 Pro Max today and have been shopping for a case. I have used Incipico for years, first with a 6 Plus and then with an X, which is what I’m upgrading from. I was about to purchase the Sheath after reading great reviews but stumbled upon this thread.

The quote above is worrisome to me. I’m an occasional dropper. Maybe once or twice a month on hardwood or tile, no more than a few feet. Then maybe once every 3-6 months on concrete, also no more than a few feet.

I come from using the Incipio (product link below) for comparison. Can anyone else confirm that the above statement is true for someone such as myself? Should I be seeking a more rugged case? I’ve always thought the case I’ve used below is a decent middle ground and would be comparable to the Sheath. Am I mistaken?
