But is the turtle neck washed or still has the body smell? That could make a difference.
Jokes apart, this is really disgusting in all possible ways....

"...the backs feature an authentic fragment of Jobs' original famous turtleneck embedded in the Apple logo..."

WTH!

Most things about this phone are ridiculous and tacky, which unfortunately distracts from the laudable fact that they seem to have almost eliminated the camera bump.
They haven't eliminated the camera bump. They've increased the thickness of the entire phone so that the original bump is flush with the back.

You get the same effect by slapping a thin Apple case on the phone. The bump becomes a recess.

What now, they pulled the same thing last year also?
What was the story then? Because this year it's special because of the 10th anniversary of the iP4 😁

everyone making comments about the turtleneck. Google "Mitchell & Ness" baseball cards. They do the same thing with relic cards. I remember there even being a card with a piece of Abe Lincoln's hair....JFK hair....etc.

Haha yeah. Certainly getting the money’s worth out of the jumper they bought!

Mind you, the piece of fabric is small. It will probably do them for new iPhones for a while!

They have done loads of different ones. There was a Beatles one with tiny bits of their suits and a Mohammed Ali one with bits of his gloves amongst others!

Looks like we're skipping entire months and days and calling it 1st of April.

April-fools indeed. Is the little square ever off-center within the Apple-logo and can I get a new iPhone if it is!?
It doesn't look good with a square breaking the Apple-logo.
Also, it's too expensive and I wouldn't even own it as a toilet-phone.

Something tells me Steve Jobs family will sue them. Probably Apple also!
The use of Steve Jobs signature is probably still protected by copyright

edit:
"Think different" and "designed by apple in california" are probably trademarks still protected in many countries.
They will be sued for sure
I suspect we'll see a cease and desist by the end of day, end of week at the latest. Actual filing of legal action by next week.
Unless they actually have all the proper authorizations and releases. There's nothing about this that is "fair use" from what I see.

I mean, is anyone really surprised? The company name Caviar already says it all. Russian billionaires and their wives (the ones who've singlehandedly created the real estate bubble in chic London neighbourhoods by buying out half of them) aren't exactly known for subtle displays of wealth... or for good taste. I mean, why just have a Lamborghini with tacky personalised plates when you can get a custom body job done covering it with two million Svarovski crystals?

That makes me feel a wee bit sadness for humanity.
It is so weird and a tad creepy. It’s true to let people spend money, eat, do whatever they want... but buying this would give me the same feeling as if buying a bunch of food on the supermarket and then throwing it on the garbage can at the entrance just because I can.

On the humanity side, I concur, but the comments section actually brings it back up!

I get that. Nevertheless, it is a valid solution - there is no bump, in the sense that it is not sticking out above its surroundings. Franky, I think this is preferable over the original design.

There wasn't "Steve Jobs turtleneck jumper". He had about one hundred. A present from Issey Miyake.
Hahah I know, I’ve read about his “dress code” so to speak and its origins—I’m just genuinely curious, did one of them go up for auction at some point and Caviar was the highest bidder?

(To be fair, that sounds like the exact kinda weirdo s— that regularly happens in the Apple memorabilia world. All said with love; people [some with, uhh, deeper pockets than others] show their passion for the company in different ways…!)

Tacky but brilliant.

How many of you ever heard of Caviar before? This seems more like a publicity stunt than anything. For the price of mocking up a few cases. They get advertising from the press. Likely around the world. Plus people talking about their company.

At least I'd like to think it was a brilliant marketing ploy. Not that somebody actually thinks people will buy that at that price.
I mean, MR reports on Caviar’s renditions of the new iPhones every year…because they do this every year…but yeah.
